My thoughts ran as clear as a stream,
Reflecting upon my yesterdays,
Viewing the decisions of the past,
Watching them slide on the screen of my mind,
As through a mirror of time,
Days scrolled past chronologically,
Highlighting the slurs of yesteryears,
Casting me in an foolish light,
As if my life was but one big blurr,
Realization then sharply struck,
That highlights were not the whole,
The devil rested in the details,
The fullness of which remains yet untold,
There is more to what you see than on that brilliant cover,
The beauty that is reflected there,
May have just been dream sequence so fair!
Still on that thought, a reflection within a reflection,
Like a pebble launched into the still waters,
My thoughts spread far and wide,
Reaching the farthest shores,
Bringing my troubled mind no respite.
Yet then another thought occurred to me,
As if the director of screen play had just stepped in,
With a slight wave of hand,
The master conductor of a philharmonic orchestra,
Stilled the raging waters within,
A calm gently entered the scene,
Peace and love flooded in,
As monologues long and gripping,
Were streamed on the web of the mind,
There where no "what if's' or 'when's' anymore,
Just simple and clear resolve,
To do the things that need to be done,
Clearly stripped of drama and emotions,
Clarity trickled in a thin streak,
After that clear and simple inward talk,
Stilled waters reflecting once again,
The clarity of thought.
Peace took the place of once disturbing thoughts,
A new reality setting in,
All I see now is the road ahead,
A journey in the light of clarity that was shed!

As the tempo of the poem picked up in pace, so did my reading speed.. then it slowed and ended brilliantly! Wonderful piece. Just loved it!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Sometimes I just write what goes on in the mind as it happens.. and there is not much of rhyme or rhythm to it just the inner flow.
