Days Like This
There are those days,
They arrive from time to time;
Sublime.
The pieces fit,
All fall into place,
Tastes of a life beyond,
The struggle, the pain, the fear;
Disappeared.
Not today.
The other days,
Many and near between;
No dream.
A screaming fit,
Full of friction and chase,
Bitter on the tongue,
The beauty, the calm, the peace;
Creased.
Today.
The next break of day,
The future is an unknown;
Overblown.
Mind no longer fit,
Broken thoughts cloud the face,
A noose tightly strung,
The beat, the bass, the snare;
Unspared.
Tomorrow.
Just curious are the poems newer or are they from before your stroke?
Do you mean when I started writing them here? I started in my first year on Hive adding poetry. It was a big thing for me at the time, as they can be quite personal, even if not directly about me.
If you mean when do I write them, Everything I write is fresh, in the moment. I write, submit.
Yes to both of your questions. I didn't know if you had a book you were digging back into or if you were still actively creating them. It seems that while the stroke may have impacted other areas of your brain, your creativity is still quite functional!
I do find it harder to maintain my optimistic mindset of late. When I look at what is happening in the world, the chaos, everything falling apart at the seams. But then everything has to fall apart before we can create something better, or so I like to think, So I like to hope.

I wonder if this is true. I think it is a common belief of course and I probably think it also, but it is like the economy where "it has to fail" but I don't think it does - at least at the scale it does. It is just bad design that we keep supporting. Nature is the model of a perfect economy - it can't fail. It just changes.
The future is an unknown
Mind no longer fit
Broken thoughts cloud the face
I think I have been in such a situation for a while. My broken thoughts and the uncertainty of the future reflect on my face.
Nice poem, thanks!
I don't think you (we) are alone with the look on our faces. I have been watching people lately even a bit more than usual, and I see it.
A poem of heartfelt emotion, where time seems to converge to experience the only moment of possible happiness. Greetings, @tarazkp.
Very lucky these days are still the norm, especially during this time of year when the seasons are changing and the weather is beautiful!
This sounds like my kind of party. There is always more bass tomorrow!

There are days where you can freeze time and maintain a permanent happiness, but it is something utopian, however let's celebrate utopia.
