Tomorrow's Lies
Led astray, into the far away,
the upside down and the backward.
Flick of hair, twirl of straw,
and a few kind words was all that should.
On another day, some other chair,
not a chance would there have been.
Upon stranger's eyes, in darkened corners,
the usual breaks, to sight unseen.
Into the night, pass a light,
to draw deeply upon the unfamiliar.
Along old streets, on unstable feet,
empty doorways, each seem similar.
All the same, with little gained,
never got lost, visited many times before.
Walk away, with glasses to clean,
nothing changes, but name on the door.
Into the known, kiss on cheeks,
friendly smiles, and repeated moves.
Another chore, another checked task,
on a list filled with well-worn grooves.
Over again, with the regular hum,
tunes that will never hit highs.
Trained to death, words rise without waver,
The sounds of habitual lies.
Oooh I like this one! It's been a while since I caught one of your poems out in the wild.
Feels like a life that is living itself without the input of the owner. Life on auto pilot. I hope that is not the life for me!
I wonder how much of our lives are lived with intention, and how much is blind habit.
Way too much is blind habit for sure. But internalizing some routines so that they become automatic also helps me run my life more smoothly, so there is a balance between both extremes.
Dear @tarazkp !
Everyone lives with the belief that tomorrow will be happier than today!😃
I live with the dream of living in America!
Why don't you make the move, give it a go? You don't seem happy in S.K.
Dear @tarazkp !
I'm planning a trip to the US next year!
As you said, I am not happy right now!

Where do you live now, that the dream is getting to America? We have so many problems here that maybe foreigners take for granted.
Dear @ducecrypto !
I am glad meet to you!
I currently live in East Asia. I always dreamed of living in the United States!
It is so interesting to me how the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I spent 10 days visiting Vietnam and Cambodia to study how the ministry of education works in those countries, especially because of how high the level of achievement is. I was blown away by the natural beauty of the countryside and the fresh produce in all of the markets. I loved the relaxed way of life and realized a lot more people were smiling in Southeast Asia than they were here in New York City where I live. I've always dreamed of returning to this part of the world, and spending time in The Philippines and Thailand, since I didn't get to visit on my first trip there. Shoot, my partner loves spending time on the beach, so maybe I should think about getting a working visa to see if she really likes it there. I don't know how much longer I can continue to pay $1200 for my monthly rent!!
Dear @ducecrypto !
I am surprised that you want to live in Southeast Asia! I want to go to America and learn about American democracy, freedom, liberation, and capitalism! East Asia is now under Chinese-style communism again.
Many East Asians worry that the United States and Japan will go to war with China, Russia and North Korea.
I guess China will start a new war to dominate East Asia and Southeast Asia! So, I want you to think carefully about living in Southeast Asia!
I hope your happy! 😄
