Long silver bridle
around its neck, by the canal
heavy stone, heavy
heart. A choice to leave
this mortal curl like her hair,
her beautiful smile
spirals eternal.
Stamped with the sign of a cross
thrown through an open
window, at night where
living stones warm with hearth heat
and magical song.
Cool, I hope you keep this up, it’s such a joy to write from the heart, I find it like automatic writing when writing a song or poem, I never know where it’ll take me.
Hi todayslight, thank you for your comment. I try and write from where I am emotionally. I chose to use the haiku, tanka format because that is a little tricky and aids brevity (which is something I am working in this year). Thanks again and happy writing.
