What is the easiest way to get the list of subscribers in a Hive community?

in Quello5 years ago

I want to know who had subscribed to a particular Hive community. In addition, I also want to know which communities a particular user had subscribed to.

I know I can go through the blockchain and generate the list but is there a ready service which offers this data?

Unfortunately, there is no way to get this information. I was thinking the same since day one. Would have been wonderful.

For now, for my own reasons, I personally started a simple newsletter to get access to people - and send them a weekly update.

I'm not aware of any tools that offer the ability to easily get subscribers for a particular community other than what you can see on peakd or something similar. With that said, the easiest way to get a list of subscribers would be to make an API request and do this yourself depending on what format you wish to have them in. This depending on your technical abilities. If you'd me to provide you with more details on how to do this, more than happy to help 👍

I see. I should be able to handle the APIs, just searching for ready services to save time. Haha..

Thanks for the answer!

I'm not really sure but I think it's about the power. When the people know about how much power that it could give. They will love to post there because they're thinking that they will earn higher upvotes and at the same many users will visit this community. For sure you will have more audiences as well.

I didn't expect this to create a post by default. I thought it would be a comment, perhaps @quello should consider making the option more apparent instead of hiding it in "Advanced Options" 😅

We're still experimenting the best way to post to the blockchain. There is a trade off between comments and community posts for visibility and something we will adjust accordingly in the future.

We will look at how we can make it more obvious without confusing users.

Thanks for your feedback 👍

why quello.io needs my active key to answer it?

You have the option to sign in via both Hivesigner or Hive Keychain, when you use Hive Signer you need to grant posting authority with your active key, however, neither Quello nor Hive Signer have access or store your keys. Once that has been granted you can then sign in via posting key.

We added both Keychain and Hive Signer to give you more control of surrounding how you access Quello 👍
