TOKEN ROUTES - So good i won't do a trade unless i check it first

As Bitcoin breaks all time highs and Hive is on the move breaking out of the 30s and even Splinterlands feeling some upward movement there are plenty of us looking at moving things around. Well let me share a tool that would be helpful
https://hivehub.dev/routes

BACKGROUND
I have had to do trades for myself and for PeakD and PeakMonsters a lot over the years and I always wonder what if another series of trades/swaps/exchanges would have been a better route than the one i'm familiar with.

So I pushed the @peak.open team to work on such a project. It now works and now every time I go to do a trade I check it real quick to make sure it's still presently a good route. And it makes me happy every time i try it.

THERE COULD BE MORE
I will say that there is a lot more to the routes project we'd like to work on however it is sufficient where it is... to do the other things we'd probably wait until the user base was large enough to justify the other things like links (things that will take you to where you need to be) maybe some hive/hive-engine signing right on the page and plenty of educational aspects and integration of some LP pool stuff from BSC/ETH I'd also like to see other swap sites like stealthex.io

I guess the point is if we can get some people using what is there now then the crew will be happy to jump in and make some upgrades... so share the good word if you like it

EXAMPLE 1
So the @peak.open project employs like 7 people right now and some get bank deposits so i am frequently doing pretty much the same A to B transactions from HBD to USD in gemini... so each time I go in and see what it says today. I'll see a lot of the same routes and maybe they switch up in order ever so slightly. But helps to know which one is on top...
sometimes the best producing route isn't the easiest but like in this case the shortest route was also the best route so it was an easy decision.

image.png
The 6 step one at the top is got some weird arbitrage things going on and i don't trust them most of the time... because if there is arbitrage then chances are i'm way too late to the party anyway and some bot has already taken it and like the tag suggests it involves locations i don't have access to... in this case i can't use binance.com being from america.

EXAMPLE 2
PeakD bought a whole lot of BEE a while back and the other day we decided to lower what we have. The other day i ran this and it was decided to do a TRADE on hive.engine but today the trade was way way down on the list and doing swaps was way up. I was surprised that doing a 2 step trade actually resulted in 4 more HIVE. So i went ahead and did that route.
Actually the reality is I did both routes. Because we actually did 10k BEE but one great trick is that if you have a big amount that sometimes the best is to do that big number and then do half that number and then use a combo of the top options if they're close... aka you may add up both those routes and it may be more than the top one if you did the full amount.

EXAMPLE 3
As you can imagine i do a fair amount of @Splinterlands related movements and so the routes it shares are very interesting and there is always a little bit of variance. I'm usually happiest when i see that SWAPS are at the top of the list because i am more familiar and comfortable with using them so I enjoy that.

But even stuff i've done 100 times I'll still go check Token Routes and a big reason is because i've seen the positions of the routes swap places multiple times ... if i didn't think it ever changed for a certain A to B exchange I'd probably not check token routes for that thing.

MORE SPLINTERLANDS EXAMPLES
A little bit ago under the @peakmonsters role i made a post giving examples to the Splinterlands community of how it could be used. Here's the video. I'm sure there are tons more ideas but i shared a few. I know that i use it with DEC and SPS stuff all the time even if i think i already know the answer and it verifies it because sometimes it says that the route i expected to be best was a little off at the moment and something else is better.

REVIEWS: MAKE POSTS SHOWING YOU USING THIS.
And then tag me or PeakD or Peak.open and we should be able to give you a solid upvote you can also share on the peak projects discord

OTHER REPRESENTATIVE IMAGES

After i wrote this post i of course wanted a fun thumbnail so obviously i spent twice as long working on a thumbnail than i did writing all this text. I litterally created hundreds of images on midjourney with the help of a custom GPT i love using and went through tons of iterations because it's fun and fascinating here were some of the other options i was considering

Which one would you have chosen?

Sort:

Very good, @jarvie. Thanks for sharing this with us. I had never heard of it ...

"... so share the good word if you like it."

Done!

Great info and I watched the video last week. The one you choose caught my eye and I like it the different paths...

I like the one you chose. In particular I like how that design could fit various mediums. I can see it in needlework, in mosaic, fresco, painting, metal. Basically artistic and industrial, just like the token art magic that the tool is doing :)
Thanks for this informational post. Bookmarking it.

I think I would have gone with the bottom image for this post although I really like the one you chose in another context and the black and white one.

I've played around with routes a bit now but have yet to pull the trigger. It helps that that "GBP" has now been added.

I think it's a brilliant tool and hope it gets all the use it deserves.
