Following the trend from most Hive UIs we have an interface to write short posts.
280 characters of inspiration to be exact.
PLAY IN OTHER PLAYGROUNDS
We also are giving you ability to interact with ecency waves and leo threads.
To be honest everyone uses the same tech of using a Hive post as a container for short for these posts and the comments become the short form posts... the Snaps if you will.
SNAP TO IT!
What we loved is that So Many users just stumbled across it and came in to play. Even without an announcement they just stumbled in and started "snapping" away.
We knew Snaps would be a good addition... we never expected quite the turnout in less than a day.
Over 1100 interactions in less than 24hrs just on Snaps. Hopefully we also helped increase the interaction on Threads and Waves.
Haven't checked it out and want to see what it looks like...

INTUITIVE DESIGN
Our favorite comments were from the people who just saw the new menu item and just stumbled in and intuitively just knew what Snaps was all about. They didn't have to be told or wait for this announcement they just jumped in and understood everything perfectly. That means we're succeeding at having an intuitive product...
FREQUENT UPGRADES
In the first 24hrs we have already had several rounds of updates as many users made requests and reported on issues so thanks to the many users like @louis88 @engrave @acidyo @jarvie @shiftrox and many others.
- We added a Profile Tab to easily get to user snaps
- A way to refresh content without refreshing entire page
- And a few obscure bugs and a couple annoying ones ... all fixed...

COMING UP
- Polls: The developer @asgarth has already identified HIVE POLLS on snaps as something he's focused on doing soon. The developer of Hive Polls has indicated that polls need no tuning and it should just work.
- Community Snaps: a page for snaps online (Update... already done)
- Trending Topics: Ability to search topics and see which topics are trending (Update... already done)

So happy to see all the continuous exploration and growth, so many tools and ideas and directions. I always was hoping to see an interface like this one on Hive, it looks a bit more like facebook to me than twitter, and I find it quite appropriate/useful for helping many different kinds of communities have an internal dialogue.

I love how it is integrated in PeakD for a first release, and its inclusiveness. Looking forward to see how it evolves, although I'm not a big short form content person.

Awesome addition to hive and peakd, have also a feature request to add support for embedding Snaps and also hive posts to other posts and also externally on other sites by a widget.

Congrats PeakD team 👏. It’s a good decision to integrate Snap in Peakd frotnend. I like how accessible it is. Since PeakD is the most use frontend, I think it’s expected that Snap will generate a lot more activities for the blockchain.

They use a slightly different protocol that will take more work to be integrated.
Honestly I think they should simply switch and use the same system used by the other 4 frontends at this point. This way it would be super easy to add them.

I know Peakd was not specifically designed for mobile but can I offer a suggestion?
On the mobile keychain app, there is no way to go back to feed without clicking the drop-down and going back to beginning.
Maybe I haven't poked around enough.
Sidenote:
This is a problem for me on the regular Peakd posts feed as well, however I just recently noticed it only applies to my following feed. But if I click on a post in a community feed, I can easily press Back and continue down after reading that post.
I have not tested this yet for snaps. Perhaps it may be a keychain issue? Who should I report this to?
Maybe I'm overreacting
If this happened platform-wide, perhaps I'd ignore it. But there seems to be a conscious effort to have that function work here, no?

Hey Peak development team, can you please make that write & edit box resizable, just like in the original hive.blog interface?

I'm going to try this, but could I ask if others have the same issue with the text box sitting under the keyboard on Android?
I feel when I type it should move up so I can see what I'm typing.
At the moment I'm adding loads of blank lines to get around that ans see my content.
Might be just me, if course.

I just discovered Snaps. I've enabled them in my communities. This is a great addition to PeakD.
