I actually went to a hybrid vehicle recently and am planning to move to straight EV at some point in the not-too-distant future. Not only is it better for the environment, but the tech is finally reaching a point where the performance is pretty close to what you're getting from the combustible engines.

I'd love to do solar as well but, as you said, it's still pretty expensive. I think the last time I looked it was about 9-10 years to break even. So, you have to be planning on staying in the home that long. You also need to hope you don't run into expensive repairs along the way. And finally, you need to have the upfront cash to foot the bill to put them in. Still a pretty big decision....

Yeah nice. Same here as well. EV and solar are pretty expensive stuff.
