The Library of Ashurbanipal

in STEMGeeks3 years ago (edited)

The Library of Ashurbanipal was established by the great king Ashurbanipal as a library to be used by his palace and ruled by his successors. The library contained mostly documents and literary pieces from the ancient time periods. It has also been stated that Ashurbanipal wished to make his library the largest in the world. This library is situated in present-day Aggani in Northern Iraq.

What an excellent and detailed historical piece on literary culture! You would not believe that I did not know that a library as old as the Library of Ashurbanipal existed. It must certainly be a treasure base.

It's a relief to know that all the books, texts and tablets were preserved after the destruction of the library in the 6th Century B.C. King Ashurbanipal built a legacy.

Thanks for sharing this enlightening piece us. I am so glad I came across this post. Well done! 😊
