I've heard some of those but unfortunately those programs are mainly used by personal. I rarely see those programs used in an organization especially government instituions

I think there is an industry bias against FOSS. It's not so much a mark against the software as an indication of industry inertia.
That said, there are cases where FOSS has a lot of catching up to do. SolidWorks or AutoDesk Inventor do not have an adequate FOSS counterpart yet, and they rely on Windows OS.
