CARACAS CABLE CAR, Venezuela 🚡 // TELEFERÍCO DE CARACAS, Venezuela 🚡 [ENG-ESP]
Paz, frio, dulces, paisajes, armonía... Todo eso está presente al visitar un lugar especial sin salir de la capital de Venezuela: el teleférico de Caracas. Él nos conduce al cerro El Ávila, o también llamado Warairarepano. Todas las imágenes son mías, usando mi cámara compacta Samsung ST500.
Carrying the cable car is very easy. Its station is at the end of Mariperez Avenue, which we reach by public transport without problems. All around the place there are good signs, order and cleanliness. Wait to see the last photo where you can see the place from the aerial view. We pay our entrance fee and wait our turn to board one of the comfortable funiculars (I love that word) 🤓.
Abordar el teleférico es muy sencillo. Su estación se encuentra al final de la avenida Mariperez, que nosotros llegamos en transporte público sin problemas. En todos los alrededores del lugar reina las buenas señalizaciones, el orden y la limpieza. Esperen ver la última foto donde se aprecia el lugar desde la vista aérea. Pagamos nuestra entrada y aguardamos nuestro turno para abordar uno de los cómodos funiculares (me encanta ésa palabra)🤓.
Once inside the funicular... Sorry! ...funicular😁, you can have a 360° view thanks to its transparent walls. The ascent is quite an experience. If it is the first time you board a cable car you can feel in your sensory organs that it is not like any other experience. The angle of vision changes in an unprecedented way. Your ears feel the change in air pressure. Your heart speeds up but it is pleasant. Your body naturally raises its level of alertness to an unknown experience. After you understand all this, relax and accept that you will be there for a little more than 15 minutes you can take the camera out and take some memories like these:
Una vez dentro del funicular... ¡perdón! ...funicular😁, puedes tener una vista 360° gracias a sus transparentes paredes. El ascenso es toda una experiencia. Si es primera vez que abordas un teleféricos puedes sentir en tus órganos sensoriales de que no se parece a otra experiencia. El ángulo de visión cambia de manera inédita. Tus oídos sienten el cambio de presión en el aire. Tu corazón se acelera pero es agradable. Tu cuerpo de forma natural sube su nivel de alerta ante una experiencia desconocida. Luego que entiendes todo esto, te relajas y aceptas que estarás allí un poco más de 15 minutos puedes sacar la cámara y tomar algunos recuerdos como éstos:

I think you can tell who is taking a trip like this for the first time. And there's always someone who tells you: "Don't look down." Why? Why do they tell you that? Now I have this idea in my head and I can't get it out. And well, I end up looking down. I think it's part of the experience and understanding what kind of trouble you're in, so to speak. It's like going to the beach and not swallowing water by mouth! Sooner or later it happens to you. Suddenly you see another funicular coming down with a few passengers who, as they approach, wave their happy hands in greeting. Then you say: "These guys are enjoying it. Then it must not be so bad", and of course it isn't! It is really a nice and unforgettable experience. I don't regret it. We take pictures among the passengers and the best thing is that I will have another dose back in a while.
Pienso que se percibe quién toma un viaje así por primera vez. Y siempre sale alguien que te dice: "No mires hacia abajo" ¿Por qué? ¿Por qué te lo dicen? Ahora tengo esa idea en mi cabeza y no puedo sacarla. Y bueno, termino mirando hacia abajo. Creo que es parte de la experiencia y entender en que lío te metiste, por así decirlo. ¡Es como ir a la playa y evitar tragar agua por la boca! Tarde o temprano te pasa. De pronto observas otro funicular que viene bajando con unos pocos pasajeros que al acercarse agitan sus manos felices saludando. Entonces, dices: "Estos chamos están disfrutándolo. Entonces no debe ser tan malo". ¡Y claro que no lo es! Es realmente una experiencia agradable e inolvidable. No me arrepiento de eso. Nos tomamos fotos entre los pasajeros y lo mejor es que tendré otra dosis de regreso en un rato.
Time passes quickly. In less than 20 minutes you can surpass the more than 2000 meters above sea level. When I get off the funicular, it's another world. Am I still in Caracas? Are you sure I didn't get off in another country? Yes, yes... I'm listening to you speak Spanish. Ufff... another world. Half an hour ago we were in the middle of the concrete jungle and now we are surrounded by nature, the pure air, the welcoming mist, interspersed with cold wind gusts that surprise you, harmony, peace, pleasant sounds, and it is good that you are not alone and you also carry your camera.
El tiempo pasa rápido. En menos de 20 minutos se logra superar los más de 2000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Al bajar del funicular, es otro mundo. ¿Sigo en Caracas? ¿Seguro que no me bajé en otro país? Sí, sí... Estoy escuchando hablar en español. Ufff... otro mundo. Hace media hora estábamos en medio de la selva de cemento y ahora nos rodea la naturaleza, el aire puro, la acogedora neblina, intercaladas ráfagas de viento frio que te sorprenden, armonía, paz, sonidos agradables, y que bueno que no estás solo y también llevas tu cámara.
The walk is very well designed and built. Within a few steps you can notice many places to sit and share. Throughout the tour you will have small kiosks where you can drink timely and delicious hot chocolates☕️. They also offer strawberries with creams, sighs, cookies, milk candies... 🍭🍫🍮🍪🍰Well, if you like sugar you better bring enough money🤑, because there is a lot of variety and quality. But if what you like is a more formal place, there are also restaurants with a variety of foods, which you can enjoy inside the premises or in a small open space.
El paseo está muy bien diseñado y construido. A los pocos pasos puedes notar muchos lugares para sentarse a compartir. A lo largo del paseo tendrás pequeños kioscos donde podrás tomar oportunos y deliciosos chocolates calientes☕️. También ofrecen fresas con cremas, suspiros, galletas, dulces de leche, bocadillos de guayaba, bocadillos de plátano... 🍭🍫🍮🍪🍰 Bueno, si te gustan los dulces es mejor que lleves suficiente dinero🤑, porque hay mucha variedad y calidad. Pero si lo que te gusta es un lugar más formal, también hay restaurants con variedad de comidas, que puedes disfrutar dentro del local o en un pequeño espacio abierto.

If you look at the north side you can have an excellent view of the state of Vargas and the Caribbean Sea. Unfortunately I could not see it because of the fog at that time.
Avanzando a través del paseo puedes acceder a miradores. Inclusive, tienen unos aparatos donde amplían tu visión a la ciudad. del lado sur podrás contemplar a la ciudad de Caracas. Si observas del lado norte podrás tener una excelente vista del estado Vargas y del mar Caribe. Lamentablemente yo no pude verlo debido a la neblina en ése momento.
That is the town of Galipán 👆. A town where you can also access by land to the El Avila promenade. It has inns and varied gastronomy for the enjoyment of the tourist.
Ése es el pueblo de Galipán 👆. Pueblo donde también se puede acceder por vía terrestre al paseo de El Ávila. Tiene posadas y gastronomía variada para el disfrute del turista.

Even space for artists to delight us with their work. We found this man, a caricaturist, who offers his services at a comfortable price. What a good memory! Those models were looking very good. So in an open way we can continue to enjoy art. And speaking of art, we arrived at the famous Hotel Humboldt.
Hasta espacio para que artistas puedan deleitarnos con su trabajo. Encontramos a éste hombre, caricaturista, quien ofrece sus servicios a un cómodo precio. ¡Qué buen recuerdo! Esos modelos estaban quedando muy bien. Así que de forma abierta podemos seguir disfrutando de arte. Y hablando de arte, llegamos al famoso Hotel Humboldt.
This is the highest point of the tour. When you think you've seen it all, it's impressive how the majestic Hotel Humboldt stands in this special place. With more than 60 rooms, swimming pool, dance floor, spaces for events, bar viewpoint... this famous architectural work has been present in the landscape of Caracas and Vargas since 1956, at 2,140 meters above sea level.
Éste es el punto más alto del paseo. Cuando crees que lo has visto todo, impresiona como se levanta en éste lugar especial el majestuoso hotel Humboldt. Con más de 60 habitaciones, piscina, pista de baile, espacios para eventos, bar mirador.. ésta famosa obra arquitectónica ha estado presente en el paisaje de Caracas y Vargas desde 1956, a 2.140 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
