Greetings!
Keeping up with my promise, I will show you other areas around Pisa.
In this post i will speak about Pisa Seaside, 8 km from town proper.
The best part of it is Marina di Pisa, located were the Arno River kiss the Tirrenian Sea.
Marina di Pisa is a beautiful example of Belle Epoque architecture and is famous because it was for many years the residence of Gabriele D'Annunzio. The piece of poetry La Pioggia nel Pineto (Rain on the Pinewood), a masterpiece of italian poetry, was composed here.
A few years ago, Marina di Pisa underwent a massive redevolpment, with the construction of a touristic port and a connected residential/commercial complex.
As you can see, Marina di Pisa is beuatiful. However, thera are no beaches in Marina, so if you want to find some you need to move slightly southward, to a place called Tirrenia.
Pisa Seaside used to get totally packed in summer.It's a great place full of restaurants, discos, bars and any kind of venue.
In recent years suffered a lot becuase of COVID, as every tourist place all over the world.
Let's hope this pandemy finish soon so Pisa seaside may come back to its former glory.
I hope you did like this post: even if it is a tourist it's not very famous outside of Tuscany.
Usually, the only foreigners you can see on Pisa Seaside are US military personnel from Camp Derby, an american base a few km inland.
