What is tourism?
Greetings my people, in this post I want to introduce you to the basic concepts that have to do with tourism, I will start with the main thing.
Tourism is a multisectoral activity that is based on the use of the natural and cultural resources of a place to attract people from other places with the aim that they enjoy, relax and learn, these people can be national or international tourists, as well Tourism has become one of the most important economic activities in the world, generating great benefits to tourist destinations, these benefits include foreign exchange earnings, employment, infrastructure improvements, increased demand for goods and services, promotion of destinations and an improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the receiving communities.

Saludos mi gente, en este post quiero darles a conocer los conceptos básicos que tienen que ver con la actividad turística, comenzaré por lo principal.
El turismo es una actividad multisectorial que se basa en el aprovechamiento de los recursos naturales y culturales de un lugar para atraer a personas de otros lugares con el objetivo de que disfruten, se relajen y aprendan, estas personas pueden ser turistas nacionales o internacionales, además el turismo se ha convertido en una de las actividades económicas más importantes del mundo, generando grandes beneficios a los destinos turísticos, estos beneficios incluyen ingresos de divisas, empleo, mejoras en la infraestructura, aumento en la demanda de bienes y servicios, promoción de destinos y mejora de la calidad de vida de los habitantes de las comunidades receptoras.

What is a tourist?
There is an official definition for the term tourist, a tourist is a person who takes a trip to a place other than the one where they normally reside, with the intention of staying there for a limited period of time. This definition has been established by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and according to what I learned in university, a tourist is a person who travels to a place for a certain period of time less than one year but more than one day and which also activates the local tourist system of the place he visits, in order to get to know, experience the culture and enjoy recreational activities and it can also be for business activities.
Tourists seek to enjoy a unique and different experience from the one they have in their place of origin, for this reason, tourist destinations offer a variety of activities, such as excursions, visits to museums, culinary tests, among others, it is also important to highlight that tourism not only brings economic benefits to tourist destinations, but also offers opportunities for cultural exchange between travelers and the inhabitants of tourist destinations and these exchange opportunities can lead visitors to learn more about the culture, history and the customs of a region.
¿Qué es un turista?
Existe una definición oficial para el término turista, un turista es una persona que realiza un viaje a un lugar diferente al que reside normalmente, con la intención de permanecer allí por un período de tiempo limitado. Esta definición ha sido establecida por la Organización Mundial del Turismo (OMT), y según lo que aprendí en la universidad, Un turista es una persona que viaja a un lugar durante un cierto período de tiempo menor a un año pero mayor de un día y que además activa el sistema turístico local del lugar que visita, con el fin de conocer, experimentar la cultura y disfrutar de las actividades recreativas y también puede ser por actividades de negocios.
Los turistas buscan disfrutar de una experiencia única y distinta de la que tienen en su lugar de origen, por esta razón, los destinos turísticos ofrecen una variedad de actividades, como excursiones, visitas a museos, pruebas culinarias, entre otras, también es importante destacar que el turismo no sólo aporta beneficios económicos a los destinos turísticos, sino que también ofrece oportunidades de intercambio cultural entre los viajeros y los habitantes de los destinos turísticos y estas oportunidades de intercambio pueden llevar a los visitantes a conocer más sobre la cultura, la historia y las costumbres de una región.

What is free time?
In general terms, free time is related to the freedom to choose what to do with our time and such activities are not related to work and can range from doing a hobby like painting, reading, listening to music, watching a movie, spending time with family or friends, even practicing a sport, in addition free time is necessary to enjoy life, since it helps us release stress and anxiety from work, improving our quality of life and also allows us to develop skills and knowledge, grow as people and release our creativity and this helps us to have a fuller and happier life.
What is leisure time?
Leisure time is that time in which we have finished with the activities of our work and personal life and also carry out the activities of our free time, that is, it is the moment of our lives in which we have absolutely nothing else to do and we can use it for any activity we want without affecting the activities we do on a daily basis.
¿Qué es el tiempo libre?
En términos generales, el tiempo libre está relacionado con la libertad de elegir qué hacer con nuestro tiempo y dichas actividades no se relacionan con el trabajo y pueden variar desde realizar un hobby como pintar, leer, escuchar música, ver una película, pasar tiempo con la familia o amigos, hasta practicar un deporte, además el tiempo libre es necesario para disfrutar de la vida, ya que nos ayuda a liberar el estrés y la ansiedad del trabajo, mejorando nuestra calidad de vida y también nos permite desarrollar habilidades y conocimientos, crecer como personas y liberar nuestra creatividad y esto nos ayuda a tener una vida más plena y feliz.
¿Qué es el tiempo de ocio?
El tiempo de ocio es aquel tiempo en el cual ya terminamos con las actividades de nuestra vida laboral y personal y además realizamos las actividades propias de nuestro tiempo libre, es decir es el momento de nuestras vidas en el cual no tenemos absolutamente nada más que hacer y podemos usarlo para cualquier actividad que queramos sin afectar las actividades que realizamos a diario.

Tourism activity in recent years.
In recent years, tourism has experienced strong growth worldwide, according to the World Tourism Organization, international tourism has increased by 6.8% per year from the year 2000 to the present, which represents a rate of growth much higher than the growth rate of the world economy and this trend is present on all continents, with an increase in the number of tourists in countries such as the United States, China, India, Spain and Mexico. The increase in tourist activity has also provided an opportunity for job creation, since according to the World Tourism Organization, tourism generates more than 300 million direct jobs worldwide, which represents a significant contribution to the economy. since tourism represents 10.4% of the global gross domestic product and, in addition, tourism has also contributed to improving infrastructure in many regions, which has allowed the development of new tourist destinations and this has led to an improvement in the quality of life of the residents of the receiving communities.
La actividad turística en los últimos años.
En los últimos años, el turismo ha experimentado un fuerte crecimiento en todo el mundo, según la Organización Mundial del Turismo, el turismo internacional ha aumentado en un 6,8% anual desde el año 2000 a la actualidad, lo cual representa una tasa de crecimiento mucho mayor que la tasa de crecimiento de la economía mundial y esta tendencia está presente en todos los continentes, con un aumento del número de turistas en países como Estados Unidos, China, India, España y México. El aumento de la actividad turística también ha supuesto una oportunidad para la creación de empleo, ya que según la Organización Mundial del Turismo, el turismo genera más de 300 millones de empleos directos en todo el mundo, lo que representa una contribución significativa a la economía mundial, ya que el turismo representa el 10,4% del producto interno bruto mundial y además, el turismo también ha contribuido a mejorar la infraestructura en muchas regiones, lo que ha permitido el desarrollo de nuevos destinos turísticos y esto ha llevado a una mejora en la calidad de vida de los residentes de las comunidades receptoras.

For me we are all travelers in one way or another, many think that a traveler is a person with a backpack and hiking boots, but there is much more behind this concept, a traveler is someone who explores the world with an open mind, looking for experiences unique and this includes getting to know other cultures, interacting with people from other countries and also learning about their own culture and the world around them, plus travelers are curious people, who are willing to take risks and get out of their comfort zone and this it means they are willing to try new things, experiment with exotic foods, talk to strangers, interact with nature, and explore remote areas of the planet.
A traveler also has to be a good observer and appreciate the details of each place they visit and be able to absorb everything that surrounds them, without judging or criticizing, being open-minded a key characteristic for travelers since they have to be people with a social conscience who appreciate diversity and respect the culture and traditions of their destinations and this means that travelers are aware of the impact their actions have on the world and are willing to help locals and respect nature and the world around them.
All the concepts that I handle in this text come from my experiences and learning in classes during my university studies as a graduate in tourism.
La vida es un viaje.
Para mi todos somos viajeros de una u otra forma, muchos piensan que un viajero es una persona con mochila y botas de montaña, pero hay mucho más detrás de este concepto, un viajero es alguien que explora el mundo con una mentalidad abierta, buscando experiencias únicas y esto incluye conocer otras culturas, interactuar con personas de otros países y también aprender acerca de su propia cultura y el mundo que los rodea, además los viajeros son personas curiosas, que están dispuestas a arriesgarse y a salir de su zona de confort y esto significa que están dispuestos a probar cosas nuevas, experimentar con comidas exóticas, hablar con extraños, interactuar con la naturaleza y explorar áreas remotas del planeta.
Un viajero también tiene que ser un buen observador y apreciar los detalles de cada lugar que visita y ser capaz de absorber todo aquello que lo rodea, sin juzgar ni criticar, siendo la apertura de mente una característica clave para los viajeros ya que han de ser personas con una conciencia social que aprecian la diversidad y respetan la cultura y las tradiciones de sus destinos y esto significa que los viajeros son conscientes del impacto que sus acciones tienen en el mundo y están dispuestos a ayudar a los locales y respetar la naturaleza y el mundo que los rodea.
Todos los conceptos que manejo en este texto vienen de mis experiencias y aprendizajes en clases durante mis estudios universitarios como licenciado en turismo.
