Hi all :)
Do you remember the last article i shared about a casual visit to a small village located in northern Portugal, named Ponte da Barca? Well, that same day the tour didn't stop there. After a brief stop in the village, it was time to hit the road and continue our journey towards another small town very close to the Spanish border, named Lindoso.
The Lindoso Village is a charming, traditional town located in northern Portugal, in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. It is known for its traditional architecture, mostly made up of granite and slate, including small stone houses, the Lindoso Castle, and of course, the famous granaries that can be found there. However, i will dedicate exclusive articles to these two landmarks of this town in the future. The village is also famous for its Roman bridge (that i did not have the opportunity to visit), and for its cultural heritage, including traditional festivals and dances. Just like many other traditional places i have had the opportunity to visit and share here, this is also an excellent location for those seeking immersion in nature and local culture.
As soon as we arrived at the central point of the village, we were immediately greeted by the Lindoso Cross, a beautiful piece made of granite with a square base where people are commonly found sitting and resting after a walk or simply observing those passing by.
In the same square, located further ahead, we can see the São Mamede Church or (Lindoso Matriz Church), used by the faithful for liturgical ceremonies. It didn't cause me a great glimpse, maybe because it presents a mixture of antiquity with its central bell tower that is cut by the restored facade with a contemporary touch, however, it remains an important building in the context of the village.
While i don't move on to the articles i will dedicate to two very interesting places a little further ahead, i take this opportunity to still share some of the stunning landscapes that embrace this small dot on the map.
I hope you enjoy.
That´s all for today ;)

Never forget
The price of anything is the amount of life you trade for it.
Time is life... value yours, make every fraction worth it.
There are some great view from the village! I've only been to Lisbon but I always wanted to go to the mountainous part as well. The buildings on the first photo are those small stone buildings that you mentioned? These are not actual houses, right? 🙂
I believe you loved to visit Lisbon, but.... the real deal is in the north of Portugal :P that's where the mountains are with all these little villages :) The small stone buildings you see in the first photo are the granaries, i ll talk about them in another post.
Thank you for stopping by :)
