A few days ago I was in Maser to visit the exterior of Villa Barbaro designed by the architect Andrea Palladio and while I was taking some photos with my iPhone I thought:
Wow! I haven't used my camera for months now!
You can walk around it as much as you want but it's really convenient to use your smartphone to take photos, the quality is becoming really high now!
Sometimes when I'm about to go out I go to get my Lumix but, it weighs too much and is uncomfortable, yes I have more freedom of expression but then I have to save the photos on my PC, edit them and it takes time. Instead, now you can do everything from your smartphone and in a few seconds I've already published the photos, practically in real time!

Qualche giorno fa sono stato a Maser per visitare l'esterno della villa Barbaro progettata dall'architetto Andrea Palladio e mentre facevo alcune foto con il mio Iphone ho pensato:
Caspita! Ormai sono mesi che non uso più la mia macchina fotografica!
Ci si può girare intorno quanto si vuole ma è davvero comodo usare lo smartphone per fare foto, ormai la qualità sta diventando davvero alta!
A volte mentre sto per uscire vado per prendere la mia Lumix ma, pesa troppo è scomoda, si ho più liberta espressiva ma poi devo salvare le foto nel pc, editarle e ci vuole tempo. Invece ormai si può fare tutto da smartphone e in pochi secondi ho già pubblicato le foto, praticamente in tempo reale!
Well, apart from this thought of mine, let's get right back to the visit to Villa Barbaro which became a UNESCO Pratomonio in 1996 and which the famous architect Palladio built between 1554 and 1560.

The villa is located near the hills of Asolo in the province of Treviso and, as with other villas designed by Palladio, it is in a higher position than the countryside.

The central body of the villa protrudes significantly from the lateral barchesse, underlining the symmetry of the façade with its grandeur.

The privileged position dominates the surrounding landscape: the owner had everything under control and could see his lands while they were being cultivated.

You can see the small temple of Villa Barbaro, one of the last buildings designed by Palladio, a short distance away.
The small temple does not have the traditional longitudinal plan typical of sixteenth-century churches, but is inspired by the circular shape of the Pantheon, on which the Greek cross plan is superimposed.

Si riesce a scorgere a poca distanza il tempietto di Villa Barbaro uno degli ultimi edifici progettati da Palladio.
Il tempietto non ha la tradizionale pianta longitudinale tipica delle chiese del Cinquecento, bensì è ispirata alla forma circolare del Pantheon, a cui si sovrappone lo schema della pianta a croce greca.
One of the main features of the villas designed by Palladio is the very long avenue in line with the central body of the building which provides a unique perspective on the countryside.

Una delle caratteristiche principali delle ville progettate da Palladio è il viale lunghissimo in linea con il corpo centrale del fabbricato che conferisce una prospettiva unica sulla campagna.
It would take a whole post just for the statues, there are so many of them in the villa, and then let's not even talk about the interiors which are embellished with a cycle of frescoes that represent one of Paolo Veronese's masterpieces.

Ci vorrebbe un post solo per le statue, nella villa ce ne sono moltissime, poi non parliamo degli interni che sono impreziositi con un ciclo di affreschi che rappresenta uno dei capolavori di Paolo Veronese.
