In the central part of Greece, far from popular tourist routes, Lake Kremasta hides among the mountains. In one of my travels, I had to get from the west coast of Greece to the east (from the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea), and I chose not the easiest but a very beautiful way, the way through the mountains. That was the first time I saw the Kremasta lake.

В центральной части Греции, вдалеке от популярных туристических маршрутов, прячется среди гор озеро Кремаста, крупнейшее искуственное водохранилище в стране. В одном из своих путешествий, мне нужно было добраться с западного побережья Греции до восточного (от Ионического к Эгейскому морю), и я выбрал не самый простой, но очень красивый путь — путь через горы. Тогда-то я впервые и увидел озеро Кремаста.
Kremasta is the largest artificial reservoir in Greece appeared in 1965 as a result of the construction of a dam with a height of 165 meters (which became the largest earthen dam in Europe at that time). The following year, a hydroelectric power station and two bridges were built. Next to one of the bridges called Tatarna, I took these pictures. Pay attention to the emerald color of the water in the lake. Three mountain rivers flow into Kremasta, but such an unusual color is given to the water, apparently, by chalk and marble lime contained in the rock.

В следующем году была построена гидроэлектростанция и два моста. Рядом с одним из мостов, под названием Татарна, я и сделал эти фотографии. Обратите внимание на изумрудный цвет озера. В Кремасту впадает три горные реки, но такой необычный цвет воде придаёт, по всей видимости, меловая и мраморная известь, которую в избытке содержит горная порода.

Despite its small size, Greece has a huge number of historical and natural attractions that — even with all the desire — it is impossible to see in your entire life. After the pandemic is over, I will go straight away on a new trip to Greece.

Несмотря на свои небольшие размеры, Греция обладает огромным — я бы даже сказал, стратегическим — запасом исторических и природных достопримечательностей, которые, даже при всём желании, невозможно увидеть за всю свою жизнь. Именно поэтому Греция будет первой страной, куда я сразу же вернусь путешествовать после окончания пандемии, навёрстывать упущенное.

Цвет и правда изумительный. И насчёт стратегического запаса достопримечательностей согласна. А вот в какую первую страну хочу поехать - не могу понять )

Да, но пандемия реальная проблема. Особенно в моём случае, когда есть ограничения по деньгам. Последний раз, когда поездку пришлось отменить, а деньги за перелёт не возвращают, и ты там ищешь, на что бы поменять.... Ну его в баню. Подожду, пока всё закончится. Я пока не так мобильна, как ограничения )
