Today I invite you along the historic charming town of Brig- Glis in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, located at the foot of the Simplon Pass in the Alps. The picturesque old town with patrician houses, the Stockalper Palace and stuuning mountains views is the best place to take a quite rest after a mountains trip. It was last week on the back way from Zermatt the sun came unfortunately later.
The city was honored as the Alpin Town of the year in 2008, if you have enough time enjoy the largest open air thermal baths with warm pools surroundet by amazing mountain views.
The Stockalper Palacewith built by Kaspar Stockalper, a 17th century landmark with his three distinctive big towers dominatet the townscape. The masive stone walls, arcades and a large inner courtyard reflect a blend of power.
Here are now exhibited two historic horse drawn carriages. Brig played a special role as an important station on the Alpine trade routes. This carriage were essential for the transport of goods over the Simplon Pass.
and the main train station, a key railway hub with conections to Zermatt, Geneva and Bern, the Glacier Express, stops also here.
The cobbled streets, with cozy cafes aroundet with the beautiful natur create a paceful yet vibrant seeting that lingers long time in memory.

Thank you very much!
Amazing architectural buildings, the three distinctive towers stood out the most for me. Wondering how that giant looking stone/rock was placed on top.
Really amazing, many thanks!
The place is very beautiful, the cold environment and the snow makes the place look very beautiful. However, one drawback is that it is cold. If the weather had kept it beautiful and a little warmer, today's fall would have looked great, although I find this environment very nice.
Welcome, many thanks!
Very impressive old town with long history. Would be very interesting to visit this place one day, so much long history.
Many thanks!
