Today I invite you in Muerten a charming medieval town, renowed for its well preserved walls and picturesque old town. for all history lovers a scenic beauty. Located in Canton of Fribourg is dating back to the 12 th century. Tourist can explore its medieval architecture, including its 13. centiry walls and enjoy the panoramic views of the lake Murten an ideale place for picnics and outdoor activities like biking, runnig or walking. The town of Murten is located at 453 m above sea level, above 14 km north of the cantonal capital of Fribourg on a twenty-metre-high hill on the south-eastern shore of Lake Murten.
A stroll along the well preserved medieval walls for panoramic views of the town and the lake is always a pleasure. all in one a delightful destination for both history and landscape as well as cultural experiences.
I think every great moment here in the history of humanity is the trump card of some kind of passion. It was an beautiful great day with many lovely impressions.
Murten Castle dates back to the time of Count Peter II of Savoy in 1255. Since 1516, which has been rebuilt several times. The castle dates back to 1755 in its present form, had a cistern that is now only marked in the paving.
