You are in the right place for the cold. Trades can be cold in the winter though. I intend to do the same by keeping all in with the Hive, growth.
As for the time to come, late April to mid May is when Cherry Pears Apples Peaches are flowing in bloom. It smells and looks wonderful.
I likely wont be in the valley for the show this season. Jumping over to your side of tem Hills.

I don't work winter, only spring and falll. Oh right on, give you new areas to visit then! I bet it's quite the sight. We have a lot of crab apple blossoms, I'm sure is similar when in bloom. There is a Japanese Forested Botanical Garden that belongs to U of A agriculture and environmental, botanic& exotic butterfly studies just outside the city that offers a similar experience (I know I's not the same). Instead of cherry blossoms, it's apple blossoms. Calgary might have one too depending where you are moving to.

So you get to enjoy the cold weather and work the temperate climates. Yes there is a lot of blossom festivals all over the country however on this valley there is just a huge concentration of trees that make it quite something. Worth the trip to see and smell. Thanks for the heads up on U of A, that might be a nice easy to spend an afternoon strolling about.

Pretty much, work the temperate months. I'm sure it's much better in the valley, no doubts there!

I like the warm weather so it suites me better then the cool almost frozen streams. It can get quite hot here though.

I bet. I like heat too but not the humidity, why I like the prairies, it's really hot but dry and it cools down to the lower teens at night for a comfortable sleep.

I don't like the cold but I like doing frozen activities like hiking across Lake Louise!! The mountains have a lo of cool stuff to do when it's all frozen like ice caves & ice climbing. Walking in canyons on frozen rivers accessing areas that are not normally accessible. Ever seen the Abraham frozen Methane bubbles and ice so clear it looks like your walking/skating on a piece of glass? In case you didn't. Can only get these little wonders in the cold!

The cold frozen landscape does provide access when it freezes. There are many beauties that only come when the cold sets in and holds on. Do you ice climb? Many times I have walked across frozen lakes to places that do not allow for access in the summer time. Those frozen bubbles are quite something to see and watch form. Thanks for sharing that post, i think it should go into the book as well. :-)

Yeah, I like the bubbles. I have to try go back next winter. I went to early to bother trying to get them this year. I don't ice climb yet but I did find and talk to a training outfit that offers lessons and equipment rental. Half way there I guess. I do want to try it tho, for now I mostly watch their technique and ask questions to the trainers available for a chat when I come across them, I think next winter I'm doing it.
