During this first volunteer experience in the jungle some questions came to mind:
- How would people be transformed without the use, for example, of the internet? Would they still feel fulfilled with their lives?
- Why for some people does work define the person?
- Could all the people who are used to living in big cities live for a month in a jungle without a telephone network and with a slow satellite internet signal?
(Just to clarify.. It's not a provocation and I'm not here now to provide answers, but I wanted to share these questions I had these days :)
The jungle
Compared to working life in a big city, living in a jungle in a small town is a very engaging experience. It allows you to appreciate little things and have more time for yourself. Furthermore, you have less input and a completely different lifestyle. But at the same time there is no shortage of activities to do.
I'm currently in a jungle in Solferino north of the Yucatán in Mexico!

Carrying out completely different activities are very useful for exploring yourself and discovering new aspects of yourself. Use the machete to prune plants, use the brush cutter for grass, feed and clean dogs and cats, do simple maintenance inside and outside the house. In addition , they are excellent activities for the health of the body but also of the mind.
I should soon start using a chainsaw to prune larger plants..

An unexpected event, but which in reality is not unexpected for the people who live here, are the possible electricity blackouts. Due to a storm a few days ago for about 8 hours without electricity all cell phones and laptops were completely dead and we were indoors with only candle lights.
Now I'm sharing some photos of my life in the jungle... also because sometimes photos describe better than words!
