RE: Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena

in Worldmappin2 years ago

I really like the outdoor part, the fact that the museum is in the place where the remains were found, I think it makes sense, even beyond the logistics of moving them - which would be a total nonsense !Loved your visit here dear @mipiano... inversely proportional to the time I take to react ^^ !

Thanks for this summer visit with you :)

Museums - your field :)
I also see it great that they built this museum on the place the excavations were done. There were also some maps and models of how probably all the palaces and buildings looked like, the streets and the whole little settlement which is now just a part of the city of Cartagena. The Roman Theatre can be found in another place, also where it was built, on its place. I simply loved this visit to Cartagena but also looking forward to visiting one day Cordoba and Tarragona, the other two big centres with archaeological findings from the Roman time :))Thank you @anttn for checking out this post.

I love everything related to antiquity and the past in general... I originally wanted to be an archaeologist, but it didn't work out that way, but I'm still very interested in it...! Maybe in the future ^^ ? I think that the writing profession is similar in many ways and I have even created several characters of archaeologists and scientists...

I'll follow with interest these visits if you go there, as I don't think I'll be travelling for a while...! In Lyon, the city where I grew up, there are many remains and ruins, the most famous place being the Gallo-Roman theaters :

In the summer they organise concerts there, and I remember perfectly one of Patti Smith in the middle of a storm, quite a moment...!

Maybe one day a concert by you ? I would love that :))

How are you doing those days ? I hope for the best and wish you a good Sunday 😘

I have a friend who lives in Lyon :) Maybe I should pay her a visit one day (I have never entered the city just drove by it once) and see this Roman Theatre. Thanks for the recommendation 😇

That is interesting, that you wanted to be an archaeologist. You would do it with a lot of passion, I am sure.

I have even created several characters of archaeologists and scientists...

Really? Cool.
Now I can surely confirm, you would be a passionate archaeologist! 🙌

Thanks, I am waiting for the school break, still have a few days of work... And I also hope that you are doing well :)
Have a great week ahead @anttn 🙂

You're welcome ! It's really a beautiful city :)

Yeah, it would have been a career I would have loved !
But maybe it's not too late !?

In advance I wish you a merry Christmas and some happy celebrations !Courage for the last days dear @mipiano 💪 😉

This : maybe it's not too late ... is actually promising :)))
Good luck if it happens that you study it one day ☺️

Thank you for the encouragement, two days more to go 👩‍🏫

Thanks you... will maybe start by ethnology haha ! So much I want to do and learn and not so many time ^^

You’re welcome 😉 Take care 😘
