Ban Jhakri Falls Park, a Finest Place for a Day Out, Gangtok, Sikkim State, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ (My Sikkim Diary #03)

in Worldmappin โ€ข 4 years ago

Hello again, l hope you people are doing well. Today I'm going to share my another journey in a very beautiful spot in India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ.

Couple years ago I visited Sikkim state in India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ. Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, where I visited many beautiful spots. Ban Jhakri Water Falls and Park is one of them. It is a recreation centre and tourist attraction near Gangtok city. Ban meaning Forest and Jhakri meaning springs or waterfalls or healer ๐Ÿค”. It's compound spreads on 2 acres of land. To get there, I took a 12 kilometres car drive from Gangtok on the way to Ranka.

Temphyak Mandu, a village road.

On the way I saw this beautiful nature ๐Ÿ˜. I was frozen by the views and the cold weather. The Temperature was much colder in the morning. It took me 2 hours to reach my destination.

This the entrance of the park.

The main attraction of this park is its stunning nature and a long beautiful Falls.

I was totally touched by nature. The feeling was unexplainable.

I found these beautiful ancient sanctuary and dragon ๐Ÿ‰wish pond. I made a wish here, hoping one day it will come true.

This park had some fun rides. But I did get a chance. There was so much crowd. I just took some photos for the sweet experience.

This is the main focus of the park. This waterfall cascades from a rocky height of almost 40 feet and plunges down with extreme force.

There is a small garden around here. I found this strange looking sculpture of native forest god and goddess and yellow flowers there.

This shop actually rents traditional clothes of native people and sells souvenir items.

A Ben Jhakri is a mythical character in folktales within the Nepali Community in Sikkim. Local people believe that he lives in the forest and lives in rock caves worshipping spirits.

๐Ÿ“ Note: All along the park, l witnessed ethnic sculptures and figures depicting Jhakri culture. The figures in this park indicate rituals and some healing ceremonies that are very important for local people and shamans.

Other recreational activities and refreshment shops are also placed at the entrance.
Entrance fee is levied for all visitors.

Opening at 11 am to 5 pm.

I hope you people enjoyed my post. Thanks for support and love๐Ÿ˜Š
See you soon.
