Greetings, fellow travelers of this wonderful community, I hope you are well, I would like to share with you a beautiful experience that I had, this time in the capital of the state of Guarico, Venezuela, which is called San Juan de los Morros, where I visited the La Puerta Monument. of the plains, its history is quite interesting so I invite you to accompany me between the lines to discover this wonderful place through this beautiful story that I will be writing for you below
The beauty of traveling is that you learn many things, through geography, I have read many times before setting off to somewhere and even more so when I visit it for the first time and even though I know it, I always look to read to see what is new and Learn a little more, San Juan de los Morros, capital of the Guarico state, once belonged according to its geographical delimitation to the Aragua valleys, but who made the decision to cede this place to the Guarico state through the powers granted by the state was General Juan Vicente Gómez at the time president of the Republic, this is how this space became the capital of Guarico, having as its limit the Guarico river, which is the one I show you in this graph
The monument to the Puerta del Llano is on the right side of the river so it belongs to the jurisdiction of the Aragua state, although San Juan de los Morros is closer in population, the care and preservation of this cultural heritage corresponds to the mayor's office. from Zamora of the Villa de Cura municipality, we can see this monument on the old highway towards San Juan de los Morros, Villa de Cura.
It is a monument in the shape of a door, which measures approximately 25 meters high by 15 meters wide, which symbolizes a historical feat and here is the interesting thing that it was created in honor of the patriotic heroes who fought with the soldiers of the Spanish Empire in his historic feat to reach Caracas in his fight for freedom
It still has the commemorative plaques on its sides where those who were awarded are shown, mainly to the father of the Venezuelan country, General Simon Bolivar, as well as other renowned generals and warriors who do not go unnoticed in our historiography.
This is what makes this place special, apart from its architecture, its fresh atmosphere, the sound of the river running alongside, the singing of the birds, and remembering those epic battles fought by our army to give freedom from the Spanish yoke.
Simon Bolivar was classified as the man of difficulties, I think that without a doubt that is what forges our character, when things do not go as we expect, when we have difficult situations, when it seems that everything was against us, that is why on one occasion El liberator exclaimed, "If nature opposes, We will fight against it and make it obey us, Simon Bolivar" and in the end he achieved his goal, which was to liberate this town from the Spanish crown.
Beyond the historical context of this place is that it has made its way to local tourism through a bridge that crosses the Guarico River, thinking that crossing a bridge from end to end places us in a different state is unthinkable and here at this precise moment Where this happens because on the other side corresponds to the state of Guarico and exactly on this side where I am taking this photo is the state of Aragua.
This is an area rich in tourism which I hope to show you step by step, as well as in agriculture and livestock, these being its main economic sources, since many homes are supported by this type of activities.
The Guarico River has a length of approximately 525 kilometers, flowing into the Apure River and it meets the Orinoco, which is the longest river in Venezuela, so we can measure the size of this river current or the large route it takes, which is Truly impressive, in winter times it has a powerful flow in the summer although it is less powerful, it never stops flowing, and it is what separates two states such as Guarico and Aragua. Here you will find I present its geographical limitation
Further across the bridge we can see at the top of this hill a small chapel called Virgen del Carmen where once a month the parishioners perform a mass.
This is a pleasant, excellent place for tourism. I recommend that you come and visit this destination. You will be enchanted by its fauna and flora. There is a great variety of vegetation, which provides a pleasant fresh climate and a wonderful view that provides the incredible nature of nature.
This chapel or sanctuary to the Virgin of Carmen has a kind of plaza around it surrounded by all this powerful natural environment that comes together to form a true masterpiece, an ideal refuge to go and recharge natural energies where you can take a proper rest. or simply contemplate nature
There is still a way to go but it is worth observing everything that this wonderful place offers us, although it is uphill, no matter the fatigue, the satisfaction of being in such an impressive place went unnoticed, the exhaustion.
I don't know how true it is, but in my opinion, on one occasion I consider that this part of the earth was covered by the sea, and I find this geological formation that we find in a large part of this route impressive, they are limestone stones and they are typical of places close to the sea where they have their origin and formation
Here we reach the top of this journey, it is the place where the chapel to the Virgin of Carmen is located and we can appreciate its dimension and minimalist size but typical of the Catholic faith.
I found the place beautiful, quiet, full of peace, it deserves to be projected so that it becomes more known so that it has the tourist impulse and the enhancement that this wonderful place truly deserves.
This is the internal part, the front part, we can see the image of the Virgin of Carmen in the company of other images typical of the Catholic faith.
On one side we see a sign which indicates the days of mass as well as plaques of recognition granted to this sanctuary of the Virgin of Carmen.
As well as on the other side we can see a large number of plaques and recognitions, which impresses me because I have visited many toilets and churches of greater magnitude according to their architectural dimensions, but this place has many more than I had seen in places I have seen. previously visited
In the back of this sanctuary we can see large tall trees as well as part of the Aristides Rojas natural monument, which I will share with you later in future content.
This was my entire tour of this wonderful historical and tourist place, I hope you liked it, thank you very much for reading I will see you next time until next time ☺️
