Catching the Waves at Camp Pulong Gubat, Cuenca, Batangas 🇵🇭

Hey yow, hey yow...

I'm back with another super late upload - the photos have been sitting in my phone gallery for 5 months, waiting for me to finally get the chance to share them here on Hive. I really need to clear my gallery so here it goes. I have to refresh my memory as I go. LOL.

Camp Pulong Gubat

My cousins are the best at finding spots like Camp Pulong Gubat Wavepool. Like me, they have small kids who love the water, and it gives them pleasure to treat them to outings like these. Since most of us were present during that day, it being the day after the Barangay Fiesta, and since it was also the day before one of my cousin's birthday, we topped the celebrations with a day at the pool.

Camp Pulong Gubat Wave Pool

Coming from Manila, take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and exit at the Batangas Toll Exit. From there, drive towards Cuenca. Just follow the signs or use Waze, and you'll reach the camp in about two to three hours, depending on traffic. Indeed, it's the perfect distance for a day trip, not too far but far enough to feel like you've left the city behind. Since we were only two towns away, it took us only about 30 minutes.

Wave Pool

The wave pool is the main attraction in this resort. It is a decent size, enough to accommodate a good crowd without feeling too cramped. It's designed with a gradual slope, making it safe for kids and adults alike.

And yes, they do have waves!

Not the kind you'd surf on, but fun, playful waves that come every 3 hours (if I remember correctly) accompanied by lively music that really adds to the vibes. The kids were absolutely thrilled as they jumped and floated with each wave! Even the adults couldn't resist joining in the fun, letting loose and enjoying the refreshing water. In the 11:00am run,we were even able to request the operator to extend for a few more minutes. He kindly indulged the crowd, which was so cool.

Tall Slides

There were other amenities like slides, tall and small. My kids were so game to try the tall slides. I almost could not look as they slide down from the highest level tower. That was insanely high!

It helped that there were lifeguards who were ever alert to man the pools. It somehow tamed my nervousness.

Lots of pools to choose from

Aside from the wave pool, Camp Pulong Gubat offers other amenities like regular swimming pools, slides, and picnic areas. We opted for a cabana by the side of the wave pool, providing us with a shaded spot to relax and keep an eye on the kids.

Cabanas near the pools

My small nieces and nephews had the time of their lives in the kiddie pools. The baby almost never wanted to leave the water. The other one was almost sleeping, but still fighting it, for the love of the water! LOL.

The kids enjoyed waiting for the buckets on top of this pirate-themed pool. Once filled, it would go under it and wait for the water to dump on them. Yeah, pure fun.

We also enjoyed the giant pool at the back side of the resort. It is separate from most of the other pools. Not a lot of visitors used that pool when we were there, which was a good opportunity for us to swim freely and of course, take this group photo.

Grilling Area

You may choose to bring your own food to the resort - they allow it. They even have this large, spacious grilling area that the visitors can use at no extra cost.

Fun getaway.

Camp Pulong Gubat isn't a fancy resort, but it offers a simple, fun, and affordable way to spend a day with the family. It's a place where you can relax, let your hair down, and enjoy the simple pleasures of swimming and splashing around.

In terms of distance, the Malibiran Farm and Resort is closer to us. It is also a nice resort. Yet, if you're up to more pool choices and of course the wave pool, then it's the Camp Pulong Gubat for us.

If you're looking for a quick and easy getaway from Manila, this wave pool in Cuenca might just be the perfect spot for your next family adventure. Summer is already here - just pack your swimsuits, sunscreen, and a sense of fun, and you're good to go!

Have a lovely summer!☀️👙
