I always loved Italy, their food, architecture, beautiful nature. So this time for vacation we went to Orlando which is not in Italy, but there is a nice hotel called Portofino. You can guess from it’s name that it has something to do with Italy. Yes, in some ways it replicates original Portofino place. It even has a canal with being turquoise water. There are water taxis that can get guests to the amusement park. So this vacation it was both for adults and kids. My husband and I enjoyed the views from hotel and kids enjoyed the rides at the amusement park.
This trip reminded me of my honeymoon in Italy. Pizza, gelato, pasta and all kinds of other tasty treats made my memories come alive. So downstairs there were many different restaurants, and cafes, where guests can look for some Italian food.
Let me share some of the first shots I made there as we arrived to the destination. I love arches in the lobby area, they make the whole space look so grand.
The tiles pattern also makes it look so unique, each detail is done so well, I’m pleased to have a chance visiting this little Italian place in the US.
Now let me show you some architectural details on the balconies, I think they are super cute.
Whenever I think of Italian streets and plazas I think of their beautiful fountains.
Tiny narrow streets also come to my mind, I even remember how there were only single person tiny cars and motorcycles because of that. Here it’s all artificial or not original, but it’s done so well that, if I didn’t know where I was and just woke up here, I could be easily tricked.

It’s great to enjoy a country far away from its real location. In USA there are a lot of foreigners and it seems suitable to make places where they can feel their native atmosphere at. Of course other people also will enjoy a different culture, some different places and see the spirit of original city.

Thank you @mdosev, yes it’s nice to be able to go to a place with a different culture without needing to travel overseas. This trip made my little daughter want to travel to Italy in the future:-)
