I continued my gaze towards the impressive Archbishop's Palace of Caracas, as the final part of the tour through the Sacred Museum. It was a genuine novelty for me, despite having passed by it countless times due to its central location on the corner of Gradillas, on the southern side of the emblematic Plaza Bolívar of Caracas.

This important building houses one of the administrative headquarters of the Catholic Church in Caracas, and it is one of the oldest places of colonial heritage in our country. It was built in 1637 as a residence for the bishops and features a museum space composed of several rooms.

Something that immediately caught my attention was that, at that moment, and breaking with the logic of the previous exhibition in the Sacred Museum, there was an exhibition about the life of Óscar Yáñez, a renowned Venezuelan historical journalist known for his radio and television programs, with some apparent connection to the Catholic Church.

In another room, there was a display about the payment of vows and favors, where I could appreciate a fascinating collection of popular religious altarpieces from different Latin American countries, one of the most interesting things I saw in this house. According to what I read, that collection belongs to the Museum of Fine Arts.

Another room was dedicated to José Gregorio Hernández, a Venezuelan doctor and an interesting figure in contemporary history, sanctified by the Venezuelan people after his accidental death. His presence in this venue is accompanied by some personal items and images that reflect the deep devotion that the people have for him.

The building itself is quite spacious, with high walls and internal courtyards that help to escape from the noise and bustle that characterize the city center.

I immensely enjoyed both places during this "Devotional Tour," like one of my favorite bands, hahaha. Although I regretted the lack of continuity between the museography from one site to another. However, this apparent disconnection did not diminish the experience of getting to know some corners of the Archbishop's Palace.
