There is something interesting about the city of Bandung. Okay, I will tell you more details about the city of Bandung which was one of my destinations while traveling around Java last June. This is something that deserves to be appreciated because honestly I am fed up with the price of domestic plane tickets in Indonesia which are too expensive. This is what is an obstacle to traveling around Indonesia.
At first glance it seems trivial, plane tickets should be expensive. But, I think it's too bad, everyone complains about it. Unfortunately, things like this are responded to very badly by the government. So, traveling around Indonesia is no longer a top priority, people often want to go abroad, it's cheaper.
Out of topic, actually I'm not talking about expensive plane tickets, but rather one of the places that I think I really have to tell. Although I actually went to Bandung not to this place, but I got lost and found this place accidentally. Of course, this place is in the middle of Bandung. My actual destination was the Sate Building, but again I got lost and stopped for a while while having breakfast near this monument.
This is a monument that I think is unique. So unique, I don't know why they had to make a monument like this in the middle of the city. A monument that shouldn't have existed if covid 19 hadn't come. This monument is a dedication that the local government really cares about covid victims in 2019-2021.
At that time, a governor of West Java really wanted to make a monument to write the names of patients who died from covid 19 at that time. A very large and magnificent monument was made, as if they died tragically because of something very bad. In your place, is there a monument that commemorates patients who died from covid?
The pandemic was indeed very painful, at that time, it became a very scary and frightening specter. Everyone feels that covid is a deadly virus, no one wants to get covid. In fact, the effects of covid are still there today, including the weakening economy because there are many unemployed and industries that have stopped due to the outbreak.
Another reason why a monument like this was made in the city of Bandung. Yes, the governor is an architect. He believes that this monument is a memory of covid that must be written in the form of a building. Well, I don't know what the use of this monument is for most people. Isn't it that during Covid, people need more help in the form of food, drinks, money and supplements to make people healthier? Or, can this monument make people healthier?
Interestingly, this monument is very extraordinary with its attractive design. Similar to a place for rock climbing, because it is quite high and sturdy. Located near the Sate building, it is called 'Taman Telkom', maybe a flow of funds from one of the state-owned enterprises that oversees the construction of this monument.
It is quite interesting because this place is indeed crowded with visitors, one of the public spaces that is indeed a favorite of Bandung residents for evening walks or jogging in the morning. I think it is very beautiful because the place and layout of the park design are so modern. There are many people selling food here, you can try various delicious Bandung specialties.
Of course this for #winterchallenge
See you the next time hive friends!
