Hello everyone! To finish the last post about my trip to Italy I have been a little late; but better late than never.
After our visit to Florence, we took a train (they tend to run very frequently and are inexpensive) to Pisa, and actually slept there.
I wanted to see if this small Tuscan town had anything else to offer besides the famous leaning tower. I took this trip in the company of my friend @vonjerico.

Después de nuestra visita a Florencia, tomamos un tren (suelen pasar con mucha frecuencia y son económicos) a Pisa, y de hecho dormimos allí.
Quería ver si esta pequeña localidad de la Toscana tenía algo más que ofrecer a parte de la famosa torre inclinada. Este viaje lo realicé en compañía de mi amigo @vonjerico.
This was the square of the Duomo of Pisa, or as it is also known, "Piazza dei Miracoli".
The truth is that as soon as we approached this square we saw that there were a lot of tourists doing funny poses in the air, like trying to hold the tower. I also wanted to join in.
Esta era la plaza del Duomo de Pisa, o como también se la conoce, "Piazza dei Miracoli".
Lo cierto es que nada más acercarnos a esta plaza vimos que había una gran cantidad de turistas haciendo posturas graciosas en el aire, como intentando sujetar la torre. Yo también quise unirme.
It is said that this bell tower is leaning because the ground was unstable, but in the end it settled; otherwise the tower would have collapsed by the time it was being built, around 1178.
In this square we also have a cemetery, a baptistery, and a cathedral. I seem to remember that if you wanted to go inside, you had to pay an entrance fee, so we preferred to admire the beauty of the majestic buildings from the outside.
Se dice que esta torre del campanario está inclinada porque el suelo era inestable, pero al final se asentó; de lo contrario la torre ya se habría derrumbado en el momento en que la estaban construyendo, hacia el año 1178.
En esta plaza tenemos también un camposanto, un baptisterio, y una catedral. Creo recordar que si querías acceder al interior, había que pagar entrada y por eso preferimos admirar la belleza de los majestuosos edificios desde fuera.
We walked all over the huge square and saw some other monuments. The one of the fallen angel was quite large. There was also the one of the Capitoline she-wolf.
Caminamos por toda la inmensa plaza y vimos algunos otros monumentos. El del ángel caído era bastante grande. También estaba el de la loba capitolina.
I took the opportunity to take pictures of the square from other angles before going to lunch. To enter or leave the square from the side that we entered, you have to pass under a medieval wall. Crossing it there are a lot of stalls selling magnets and souvenirs for tourists.
Aproveché a hacer fotos de la plaza desde otros ángulos antes de irnos a comer. Para entrar o salir de la plaza desde el lateral que nosotros entramos, hay que pasar por debajo de una muralla medieval. Al cruzarla hay un montón de puestecitos vendiendo imanes y recuerdos para los turistas.
Strolling around while looking where to eat, we passed the Piazza dei Cavalieri, the second most important square in this city of Siena. In ancient times the Roman forum was here. The truth is that it was a bit narrow and it was complicated for me to take a full picture of it, so I tried to capture with my cell phone camera as much as possible.
Paseando mientras mirábamos en dónde comer, pasamos por la Piazza dei Cavalieri, la segunda plaza más importante de esta ciudad de Siena. En la antigüedad el foro romano estaba aquí. La verdad es que era un poco estrecha y me fue complicado tomarle una foto completa, así que intenté capturar con la cámara de mi móvil lo máximo posible.
Then we passed through Via Santa Maria, a street also full of restaurants, cafes and souvenir stores. In one of them we found pasta of all shapes and colors.... And when I say all shapes, I mean all shapes haha.
Después pasamos por Via Santa María, una calle también repleta de restaurantes, cafeterías y tiendas de recuerdos. En una encontramos pasta de todas las formas y colores... Y cuando digo de todas las formas, es de todas las formas jaja.
In the end we ate at a restaurant a little further away, right across the river Arno. It was called "La Ghiotteria".
Al final comimos en un restaurante un poco más alejado, justo enfrente del río Arno. Se llamaba "La Ghiotteria"
For starters we ordered some cold meats. And for lunch, I ordered the "penne al Jack Daniel's" which was brought to me wrapped in aluminum foil, and Ruben ordered a truffle risotto. For dessert, I had an espresso coffee and he had chocolate profiteroles.
De entrantes pedimos unos embutidos. Y para comer, yo pedí el "penne al Jack Daniel's" que me lo trajeron envuelto en papel de aluminio, y Rubén se pidió un rissoto de trufas. De postre, yo un café expresso y él unos profiteroles de chocolate.
On the way out, we saw the statue of Galileo Galilei. This is the city where he was born, in fact, there is a plaque on the place where his house was.
Al salir, vimos la estatua de Galileo Galilei. Esta ciudad es quien la que le vio nacer, de hecho, hay una placa en el lugar donde estuvo su casa.
The streets, as a rule, were very narrow.
Las calles, por norma general eran muy angostas.
Walking near the Arno river, and crossing one of its bridges, at sunset there were beautiful views. It caught my attention that the church of Santa Maria della Spina was still open, so we walked over to see inside.
Caminando cerca del río Arno, y cruzando uno de sus puentes, al atardecer se veían bonitas vistas. Me llamó la atención que la iglesia de Santa María della Spina seguía abierta, así que nos acercamos a ver su interior.
The façade was gothic in style. Inside we saw that there was an exhibition of baby heads, by an artist named Brice Esso. The truth is that I was very surprised to find this art exhibition, which at first glance does not seem to be of a religious nature, inside a church.
La fachada era de estilo gótico. En el interior vimos que había una exposición de cabezas de bebé, de un artista llamado Brice Esso. La verdad que me llamó mucho la atención encontrar esta exposición de arte, que a priori no parece de carácter religioso, dentro de una iglesia.
For dinner we went to Taverna di Pulcinella for a pizza, some wine, and for dessert a tiramisu and a red fruit cake.
Para cenar fuimos a la Taverna di Pulcinella para comernos una pizza, tomar un poco de vino, y de postre un tiramisú y una tarta de frutos rojos.
It was already dark on our day visiting Pisa, so on the way back to the hotel I took some night photos of the piazza del Duomo, with the monuments and the tower illuminated, to say goodbye to the place and return to Spain the next day. This was the last place I visited in Italy. I recommend visiting Pisa if it is on your way through the south of this country, and for its proximity to Florence.
Ya se había hecho de noche en nuestro día visitando Pisa, así que de regreso al hotel tomé algunas fotos nocturnas de la piazza del Duomo, con los monumentos y la torre iluminados, para despedirme del lugar y volver a España el día siguiente. Este fue el último lugar que visité de Italia. Recomiendo visitar Pisa si queda en tu trayecto por el sur de este país, y por su cercanía con Florencia.
