Film by Régis Thivet
A few weeks ago we did a little hike with our neighbor and friend Régis. We walked along the border of the river Crespenou in the surroundings of the village Sauve in the Gard (France).
Like everywhere else in this region, you stumble across remnants of the past: an "agal" (canal), old stones of a "cascade" (weir) etc. Those are not unusual in this region and were used to ensure the supply of water for industry, horticulture and/or livestock.
The mysterious square post holes in the rocky beds caught our attention. Are these remains of a fish farm, such as the trout farms nearby, in the river Vis ? Or maybe something completely different ?
