Today I want to tell you about my trip to Trentino Alto Adige to discover an enchanted lake: Lake Carezza.

Oggi voglio raccontarvi del mio viaggio in Trentino Alto Adige alla scoperta di un lago incantato : il lago di Carezza.
Where is it located?
We are located in a small town in Trentino called Nova Levante at 1500 m altitude. The lake is surrounded by woods, this makes the atmosphere even more magical and suggestive. The lake extends below the Latemar, a mountain range in the Dolomites. The scenery is truly a spectacle of nature, a must see at least once in your life. Admission is absolutely free. For a fee only parking.

Ci troviamo in un piccolo comune del Trentino chiamato Nova Levante a 1500 m di altitudine. Il lago è circondato da boschi, questo rende l’atmosfera ancora più magica e suggestiva. Il lago si estende al di sotto del Latemar, un gruppo montuoso delle Dolomiti. Lo scenario è davvero uno spettacolo della natura, assolutamente da vedere almeno una volta nella vita. L’ingresso è assolutamente libero. A pagamento unicamente il parcheggio.
We visited the lake in the early afternoon, perhaps it was not the most suitable time because the sun was very high and it was difficult to make beautiful photographs. I recommend the visit either early in the morning or towards sunset, when the colors of the sky become more rosy and are reflected perfectly in the crystal clear waters of the lake.
Once arrived you pass through a "tunnel" that leads directly to the lake. In the gallery you will find the famous legend of Lake Carezza.
Noi abbiamo visitato il lago nel primo pomeriggio, forse non era il momento più adatto perché il sole era molto alto e si faceva fatica a fare delle belle fotografie. Io consiglio la visita o in prima mattina oppure verso il tramonto, quando i colori del cielo si fanno più rosei e si specchiano perfettamente nelle acque cristalline del lago.
Una volta arrivati si passa attraverso una “galleria” che porta direttamente al lago. Nella galleria trovate scritta la famosa leggenda del lago di Carezza.
The legend of Lake Carezza :
It is said that in the lake lived a nymph named Ondina who with her wonderful song could enchant all travelers passing by.
One day a sorcerer also passed by, who fell madly in love with Ondina, but she did not return his love. Then he asked for help from a witch who told him to disguise himself as a jewelry salesman and create the largest rainbow he had ever seen.
He did it, he created the rainbow right in the Latemar mountains and she was enchanted by this view, she came out of the lake to admire the rainbow. As the sorcerer saw her, he tried to approach her, but in a hurry he forgot to disguise himself, so Ondina, frightened, hid in the depths of the lake, the angry sorcerer destroyed the rainbow and the pieces ended up right inside the lake.
It is for this reason that Lake Carezza is also called Rainbow Lake, and it is true sometimes you can see within its waters colors that recall those of the rainbow.
La leggenda del lago di Carezza :
Si narra che nel lago vivesse una ninfa di nome Ondina che con il suo meraviglioso canto riusciva a incantare tutti i viaggiatori che passavano da lì.
Un giorno passò anche uno stregone, che si innamorò perdutamente di Ondina, ma lei non ricambiava il suo amore. Allora lui chiese aiuto a una strega che gli disse di travestirsi da venditore di gioielli e di creare il più grande arcobaleno che si fosse mai visto.
Lui lo fece, creò l’arcobaleno proprio sulle montagne del Latemar e lei fu incantata da questa vista, uscì dal lago per ammirare l’arcobaleno. Come la vide lo stregone cercò di avvicinarla, ma preso dalla fretta dimenticò di travestirsi, così Ondina, spaventata, si nascose nelle profondità del lago, lo stregone arrabbiato distrusse l’arcobaleno e i pezzi finirono proprio all’interno del lago.
E’ per questo motivo che il lago di Carezza viene anche chiamato Lago Arcobaleno, ed è proprio vero a volte si vedono all’interno delle sue acque dei colori che richiamano proprio quelli dell’arcobaleno.
It’s possible, to walk around the perimeter of the lake thanks to a walkway that goes right through the woods and that allows us to see it from every single corner.
You can not go down to admire it up close, it is forbidden this to prevent you go to ruin such a beautiful and unspoiled natural place.
E’ possibile, percorrere tutto il perimetro del lago grazie a una passerella che passa proprio attraverso i boschi e che ci permette di vederlo da ogni singolo angolo.
Non è possibile scendere per ammirarlo da vicino, è vietato questo per evitare che si vada a rovinare un posto naturale così bello e incontaminato.
There is also the possibility to stop along the path to eat, or towards the parking lot, there are bars with catering service.
Parking costs 2 € per hour for the whole day 12,00 €

C’è anche la possibilità di fermarsi lungo il percorso a mangiare, oppure verso il parcheggio, ci sono dei bar con servizio di ristorazione.
Il parcheggio costà 2 € all’ora per tutta la giornata 12,00 €
