Today I am here to tell you more about my journey to discover Trentino.
In this post we will talk about one of the most important and beautiful cities of Trentino namely Trento, also called the capital of the Region and its wonderful Science Museum.

Oggi sono qui per raccontarvi ancora del mio viaggio alla scoperta del Trentino.
In questo post parleremo di una delle cittĂ piĂą importanti e belle del Trentino ossia Trento, anche detta capoluogo di Regione e del suo stupendo Museo della scienza.
On our passing visit to Trento, we did a quick tour of the city, also because I had already been a couple of times because of the university.
We stayed in the main square, Piazza Duomo, with a magnificent central fountain. The square has a quadrangular shape, with porphyry cubes as flooring, surrounded by buildings of the 500 or 600.
Nella nostra visita di passaggio a Trento, abbiamo fatto un giro veloce per la città , anche perché io c’ero già stata un paio di volte per via dell’università .
Siamo stati nella piazza principale, Piazza Duomo, con una magnifica fontana centrale. La piazza ha una forma quadrangolare, con cubetti di porfido come pavimentazione, circondata da edifici del 500 o del 600.
After a quick visit to the castle of Buonconsiglio, ancient medieval fortress then used as a palace and bishopric for a certain period of time. It’s very suggestive, rich in frescoes and showy elements. The guided tour costs only 10,00 euro, you can also buy tickets directly on site, or online.
Dopo una visita veloce al castello del Buonconsiglio, antica fortezza medievale poi adibita a palazzo e sede vescovile per un certo periodo di tempo. E’ molto suggestivo, ricco di affreschi e di elementi vistosi. La visita guidata costa solo 10,00 euro, è possibile acquistare i biglietti anche direttamente sul posto, oppure online.
The visit then moved to the MUSE museum of science in Trento. It is located in the district designed by Renzo Piano famous architect and also the whole museum was designed by him. Architecturally the structure is very beautiful, rich in large openings that allow the natural entry of light. In addition, the structure recalls the trend of the mountain ranges, in particular of the Dolomites that are right in Trentino Alto Adige.
It’s really an innovative and modern structure!
La visita poi si è spostata al MUSE museo della scienze di Trento. Si trova nel quartiere progettato da Renzo Piano famoso architetto e anche l’intero museo è stato progettato da lui. A livello architettonico la struttura è molto belle, ricca di ampie aperture che consentono l’ingresso naturale della luce. Inoltre la struttura ricorda l’andamento delle catene montuose, in particolare delle Dolomiti che si trovano proprio in Trentino Alto Adige.
E’ veramente una struttura innovativa e moderna!
The structure consists of six floors, each of which has a different subject, a vegetable garden and a biotope.
We visited the entire internal structure but for lack of time, we were not able to visit the outside.
Once you enter by going down to floor -1 you will find the whole part dedicated to aquariums, evolution, the history of life. You can see the skeletons of many animals but also of the evolution of man. It’s a very interesting part of understanding the concept of evolution and history.
La struttura è formata da sei piani, ognuno dei quali ha un argomento diverso, un orto e un biotopo.
Noi abbiamo visitato tutta la struttura interna ma per mancanza di tempo, non siamo riusciti a visitare anche la parte esterna.
Una volta entrati scendendo al piano -1 si trova tutta la parte dedicata agli acquari, all’evoluzione, alla storia della vita. Si vedono gli scheletri di numerosi animali ma anche dell’evoluzione dell’uomo. E’ una parte molto interessante per comprendere il concetto di evoluzione e di storia.
From there we entered directly into the tropical greenhouse, a corner that perfectly resembles the rainforest, rich in species of animals, amphibians, birds and reptiles; but also of different plant species. Obviously once you enter the impact is to be inside a warm and humid environment, just like in a forest, following the path you exit right on the ground floor.
Da lì siamo entrati direttamente nella serra tropicale, un angolo che ricorda perfettamente la foresta pluviale, ricca di specie di animali, anfibi, uccelli e rettili; ma anche di specie vegetali diverse. Ovviamente una volta entrati l’impatto è quello di trovarsi all’interno di un ambiente caldo e umido, proprio come in una foresta, seguendo il percorso si esce proprio al piano terra.
Here there is a whole section dedicated to science, you can touch the science and try to test yourself with physical and mathematical laws.
This area is accessible to everyone, both adults and children.
On the first floor instead there is a whole part that concerns the man sapiens and the neanderthal man, we talk about evolution, we see the tools they used, the clothes, what they hunted. It’s absolutely a very interesting part of the museum.
Qui c’è proprio tutta una parte dedicata alla scienza, è possibile toccare con mano la scienza e provare a cimentarsi con leggi fisiche e matematiche.
Questa zona è accessibile a tutti, sia ai più grandi che i più piccini.
Al primo piano invece c’è tutta una parte che riguarda l’uomo sapiens e l’uomo di neanderthal, si parla di evoluzione, si vedono gli strumenti che utilizzavano, i vestiti, cosa cacciavano. E’ assolutamente una parte del museo molto interessante.
The second plan, on the other hand, concerns the whole part of geology, of Italy in particular, the rock formations, the mountain ranges, and everything that concerns the rocks and their formation.
The third floor talks about biodiversity, the environment and the importance of respecting nature and all its living beings.
There is also an area, called discovery room, dedicated to children, where they can play and explore these concepts on their own. By touching, smelling, listening, they are immersed in nature and like real scientists explore this world.
Il secondo piano invece riguarda tutta la parte della geologia, dell’italia in particolare, le formazioni rocciose, le catene montuose, e tutto quello che riguarda le rocce e la loro formazione.
Il terzo piano parla di biodiversità , di ambiente e dell’importanza del rispetto della natura e di tutti i suoi viventi.
C’è anche una zona, chiamata discovery room, dedicata ai bambini, dove possono giocare ed esplorare da soli questi concetti. Toccando, annusando, ascoltando, vengono immersi all’interno della natura e come dei veri scienziati esplorano questo mondo.
The fourth floor is dedicated to the climate, its changes and what they entail.
on the top floor there is a large terrace from which you can see both the vegetable garden and the biotype.
The terrace also allows us to understand the territory that surrounds us and makes us understand that we are an integral part of this territory!
I was really happy to visit this museum, and I can assure you that it is one of the most beautiful science museums I have ever visited.
In addition, it is able to involve both adults and children, thanks to the variety of activities it offers.

Never seen or visited a science museum before but it looks magical! Even for a big animal lover like me, you really can't get too bothered by those that do a great job showing what's everything about. We definitely need more of that around the world with all the knowledge that should be improved daily!
