A Place Away From The Busyness Of Digital Life

in Worldmappin3 years ago

In today’s technology-driven age, we live in two worlds— the virtual world and the real world. Most of us own a cellphone, laptop, computer, tablet, and the like. Having said that, we face our screens for hours because of work, studies, entertainment, etc. Our world today revolves around the virtual world; we barely allot time for our surroundings. We get informed, get heard, and get connected through technology. Can you still distinguish and draw a boundary between the two worlds? Or are you virtually living in the present world?

As a student, I also find it hard to balance using my gadgets and taking a break because my education takes place on my computer. Thus, most of my time is focused on my screen, and I hardly disconnect from it.

However, I have realized that I should have time to connect with the real world to de-stress my mind and body from the mental and physical exertions I do every day.

In connection with this, I, together with my mother, aunt, sister, and cousin, went to Suarez Hills Natures Park to spend time away from the busyness of our digital-driven lives.

Suarez Hills Natures Park is located at Dalwangan Malaybalay, Philippines. It is an uphill destination, where we could see the overview of Malaybalay City. It took a 20-minute ride by car and it was smooth and refreshing because of the clear road, nice window view, and fresh air. Our car was not challenged and we successfully went there. When we arrived, my aunt paid a 30-peso entrance fee for each of us.

I was surprised because we were the only visitors that day. We were welcomed by a refreshing wind and spacious place. There were a few areas where we could roam around and take pictures.

I was thrilled to see nature and its colors— shades of green. It was a place where I felt at peace and in love not only with it but also with myself. I had the time to free up my mind and focus on what is in front of me. I appreciated everything I saw, felt the cool breeze, inhaled and exhaled the fresh air, and smiled at the beautiful place.

On the swing.

On the wooden chairs.

Nature's Colors.

Nature's Painting.

Feeling the refreshing view and wind.

My experience in nature made me connect with my inner being and the present moment. It was rejuvenating to disconnect from my screen because of the calming colors of nature. I was astounded by the beauty of the place I belong, and happy to have the opportunity to explore.

I have realized that it is vital to unwind, even for a short period as it enables you to replenish the energy you use every day.

Thus, disconnecting from the virtual world and connecting with the real world is a solution to have peace in mind and body.

How about you? When was the last time you spend time in nature and connect with the present moment?

Actually good. Life outside digitals is really needed sometimes

I agree with you. We all need a refreshment :)

Hello, @beannamedrano

This is @fionasfavourites from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member - Keeping Up With the Buzz – My Introduction to the Hive Community.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out – Hive Communities.

Also since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.

Also, as this the hive can be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide is a growing repository of useful – easy to understand – posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.

For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, you are welcome to tag me (@fionasfavourites) and please mention @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation.
