RE: Life - getting back on track in Clumber Park, UK

in Worldmappin • 8 months ago

It really did do me some good thanks 😊 I feel recharged and refocused on what I need to do in this next chapter of life. I’m going to try and focus more on myself and exploring hobbies and nature/the UK. Hopefully if I document it (Charles bought me a photo diary) I will be able to look back on the memories made and know that I spent my time creating value and not just existing 😊
I’m also going to try and get into Nottingham to go to a good running store to get fitted for some running shoes! Any tips? Bearing in mind I have never run in 44 years 😂

There is so much choice in running shoes. Find something that is comfortable for you. I hope the shop will help with that. Some shoes are not at all waterproof as they actually have holes in them (for ventilation). If you are likely to go out in all weather then this may be a consideration. I've been using Allbirds for a while. They are more sustainable than most brands, but can be expensive. They are good enough for what I do.

Take it really gently to start with. The Couch to 5k programme may be a good option as it mixes short bursts of running with walking to recover. You have to build up stamina to run longer distances. If you can find a local running group then it may inspire you.

Enjoy it!

Thank you! I’ve previously downloaded the couch to 5k app so I’ll have a look at that. I’ll let you know what the running shop advise!
