Traveler friends, I hope you are enjoying good health and have an excellent day, it is a pleasure to share my visit to Peñón, a beautiful area of the city, located on the Cumaná -Carúpano national highway (Caúpano Avenue), which has a beautiful beach, restaurants and inns, for the enjoyment of tourists, I really like this sector of the city because it is located away from the center, it looks like a rural town and is perfect for enjoying the fresh air away from the economic dynamism of the city, which is regularly very hectic, due to the movement of people doing their shopping, errands and daily activities; It is a refuge to rest from the hustle and relax on the seashore, it is also a fishing port where you can get fresh fish and seafood (guacuco, chipi chipi, mussels, others) at affordable prices. If you decide to visit this charming sector, you take the bus line in the center (mini terminal) and in approximately thirty minutes, depending on the traffic flow you are already in El Peñón, you can access it through the entrance near Gualberto Ybarreto Boulevard or through the three stones sector that leads directly to the beach, the ambulatory and the church are also located there.
This sector stands out for its joyful celebrations, in the Carnival season, they perform comparsas and the election of the queen, among others and a very popular celebration in the area is the burial of the losing team of the baseball season, between the eternal rivals Leones del Caracas and Navegantes del Magallanes, their fans and followers organize a walk that simulates a burial, in which an urn with the name of the losing team is carried, They make a tour through the main streets until they reach a house where the wake is held and then the burial until the following year when the new baseball season begins. For many years this beautiful and curious celebration has been held and every day it has more followers, it is a burial accompanied by music and dancing because the fans are happy to bury the rival team.
Hola amigos viajeros, espero se ecuentren disfrutando de buena salud y tengan un excelente día, es un placer compartir mi visita al Peñón, una hermosa zona de la ciudad, ubicada en la carretera nacional Cumaná -Carúpano (avenida Caúpano), que cuenta con una hermosa playa, restaurantes y posadas, para el fisfrute del turista, este sector de la ciudad me gusta mucho porque se encuentra alejado del centro, parece un pueblo rural y es pefecto para disfrutar el aire fresco alejado del dinamismo económico de la ciudad, que regularmernte es muy agitado, por la movilización de personas haciendo sus compras, diligencias y actividades diarias; es un refugio para descansar del ajetreo y relajarte a la orilla del mar, es además un puerto pesquero donde consigues pescado fresco y productos del mar (guacuco, chipi chipi, mejillón, otros) a precios acccesibles, si decides visitar este encantador sector, tomas la línea de buses en el centro (mini terminal) y en aproximadamente treinta minutos, dependiendo del flujo vehicular ya estás en el Peñón, puedes acceder por la entrada cerca del bulevar Gualberto Ybarreto o por el sector tres piedras que conduce directamente a la playa, allí se ubica también el ambulatorio y la iglesia.
Este sector destaca por sus alegres celebraciones, en la temporada de Carnaval, realizan comparsas y la eleción de la reina, entre otras y una celebración muy popular en la zona que es el entierro del equipo perdedor de la temporada de béisbol, entre los eternos rivales Leones del Caracas y Navegantes del Magallanes, sus fanáticos y seguidores organizan una caminata que simula un entierro, en la cual se lleva una urna con el nombre del equipo perdedor, hacen un recorrido por las principales calles hasta llegar a una casa donde se realiza el velorio y posteriormente el entierro hasta el siguiente año que inicia la nueva temporada de beisbol, durante muchos años se ha realizado esta hermosa y curiosa celebración que cada día suma más seguidores, es un entierro acompañado de música y baile pues los fanaticos están felices de sepultar al equipo rival.
In recent years, El Peñón has experienced population growth and several housing projects have been developed, initially the population was concentrated on the shores of the beach and some scattered houses in the sector, now the population is concentrated in the different avenues and residential complexes, the area has basic services, The area has bakeries, vegetable and grocery stores, an electrical substation, a pumping plant for water and essential services to serve visitors, near the beach are located mostly restaurants and inns, so that tourists have easy access to the beach and comfortable accommodation overlooking the sea.
During the day it is very hot, and in the afternoon with the sunset, the temperature drops and the cool breeze arrives, which is my favorite part, feeling the breeze on my face.
En los últimos años, el Peñón ha experimentado un crecimiento poblacional y se han desarrollado varios proyectos habitacionales, inicialmente la población se concentraba a orillas de la playa y algunas casas dispersas en el sector, actualmente la población se concentra en las diferentes avenidas y en los conjuntos residenciales, la zona cuenta con los servicios básicos, con panaderías, ventas de verdduras y víveres, una una subestación eléctrica, planta de bombeo para el agua y los servicios esenciales para atender a los visitantes, cerca de la playa se ubican en su gran mayoría los restaurantes y posadas, para que el turista tenga fácil acceso a la playa y un cómodo alojamiento con vista al mar.
En el día hace mucho calor, ya en horas de la tarde con el ocaso del sol, la temperatura baja y llega la fresca brisa, que es mi parte favorita, sentir la brisa en mi cara.
During my visit to this beautiful sector of the city I was as always, accompanied by my son, we took the opportunity to take a tour of the main avenues until we reached our destination which was the beach, in our walk we could observe and in fact it is the first time I see it, very close to the beach there is a small square with concrete benches and a basin of water for people to wash their feet and can move forward to their home, This is located at an intersection by the main avenue that leads to the exit, the benches are yellow and very close to it there is a spectacular view of the mountain, if you have the opportunity to travel to the city of Cumaná, El Peñón is a beautiful destination to enjoy its beaches and a beautiful seascape.
I love visiting this part of the city, because I disconnect from the urban dynamism and I can enjoy the contact with nature, the sea breeze, walk along the beach and relax, it is a cozy secctor for lovers of the sea and its beautiful landscapes, every time I can go I take advantage of the time to relax listening to the sound of the waves and watching the scenery, it is an excellent therapy to replenish energy and start the week full active.
Durante mi visita a este hermoso sector de la ciudad estuve como siempre, acompañada por mi hijo, aprovechamos para hacer un recorrido por las principales avenidas hasta llegar a nuestro destino que era la playa, en nuestra caminata pudimos observar y de hecho es la primera vez que la veo, muy cerca de la playa hay una pequeña plaza con bancos de concreto y una pila de agua para que las personas se laven los pies y puedan avanzar hasta su casa, esta se encuentra en una intersección por la avenida principal que conduce a la salida, los bancos son de color amarillo y muy cerca de ella se aprecia una espectacular vista de la montaña, si tienes la oportunidad de viajar a la ciudad de Cumaná, El Peñón es un hermoso destino para que disfrutes en sus playas y de un hermoso paisaje marino.
Visitar esta parte de la ciudad me encanta, porque me desconecto del dinamnismo urbano y puedo disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, la brisa marina, caminar por la playa y relajarme, es un secctor acogedor para los amantes del mar y sus lindos paisajes, en cada ocasión que puedo ir aprovecho el tiempo al máximo para descansar escuchando el sonido de las olas y observando el paisaje, es una excelente terapia para reponer energía y empezar la semana full activa.
