The Bolivar Square of Caicara del Orinoco was another of the places I had the opportunity to visit during my trip to this beautiful city, capital of the Cedeño municipality (Bolivar state), located on the banks of the mighty Orinoco, the square is located in the historic center of the city, Ayacucho street, very close to the church Nuestra Señora de la Luz and trocal 12 Carabobo avenue, it covers one block and has in its spaces several fruit and ornamental trees, which refresh and beautify the place, some of the trees have concrete trees painted in yellow color.
The plaza, in addition to its large terrain and excellent location, has several trees which refresh the place and beautify the environment, among them the mango tree stands out, which is one of the largest and most leafy. In the central part of the plaza there is a small rectangular-shaped concrete platform, where we see the flagpoles, they are made of iron and are painted gray. In front of the flagpoles is the sculpture of Simón Bolívar on a triangular-shaped concrete pedestal, the base is a square platform, the sculpture is made of bronze and the Liberator is standing, holding the sword with both hands, the floor in this part of the square is made of granite and has two steps to access, then we observe again the terracotta floor, which extends to the final part of the square, where it converges with the sidewalk.
La plaza Bolívar de Caicara del Orinoco fue otro de los lugares que tuve la oportunidad de visitar durante mi viaje a esta hermosa ciudad, capital del municipio Cedeño (estado Bolívar), situada a orillas del orilla del imponente Orinoco, la plaza se ubica, en el casco histórico de la ciudad, calle Ayacucho, muy cerca de la iglesia nuestra señora de la luz y trocal 12 avenida Carabobo, abarca una cuadra y tiene en sus espacios varios árboles frutales y ornamentales,m que refrescan y embellecen el lugar, alguno de los árboles tienen redomas de concreto pintadas de color amarillo
La plaza además de su amplio terreno y excelente ubicación, cuenta con varios árboles los cuales refrescan el lugar y embellecen el entorno, entre ellos destaca el árbol de mango que es uno de los más grandes y frondosos, en la parte central de la plaza se ubica una pequeña plataforma de concreto con forma rectangular, donde vemos las astas para las banderas, son de hierro y están pintadas de color gris, al frente de las astas se encuentra la escultura de Simón Bolívar en un pedestal de concreto con forma triangular, la base es una plataforma cuadrada, la escultura es de bronce y el Libertador está parado, sosteniendo la espada con ambas manos, el piso en esta parte de la plaza, es de granito y tiene dos escalones para acceder, luego observamos nuevamente el piso de terracota, que se extiende hasta la parte final de la plaza, donde converge con la acera.
The square has a perimeter fence, consisting of concrete walls, concrete columns also in gray and black bars, the poles have a striking design are made of concrete and figures located at the bottom of the post, at the top has several tubes to place the lamps, the poles are shaped chaguaramo with cylindrical and triangular terminations, In the back part of the square, an important educational center is located and there are stairs that give access from the high school to the square and vice versa, the walls that separate the paths are blue and the gardens also have blue color on the edges, the benches are located on terracotta floors and are made entirely of concrete.
The design of the post is curious and striking for its shape and decorative figures, these are strategically located in the corners and sides of the square, to illuminate the terrain, we can see some of them in the back of the sculpture of Simon Bolivar; In addition to the concrete and terracotta walkways there are also dirt spaces where the gardens are located, which are delimited with small concrete columns, several trees, especially the most leafy ones located near the church are painted white at the bottom, at that time of the morning the maintenance and cleaning people had already finished their day, the square looked beautiful, also the area of the gardens was a little damp.
La plaza cuenta con cerca perimetral, que consiste en muros de concreto, columnas de concreto también, en color gris y rejas de color negro, los postes tienen un llamativo diseño están hechos de concreto y con figuras ubicadas en la parte inferior del poste, en la parte superior tiene varios tubos para colocar las lámparas, los postes tienen forma de chaguaramo con terminaciones cilíndricas y triangulares, por el terreno se observan varios árboles y caminerías cubiertas de concreto y algunas con terracota, en la parte trasera de la plaza, se ubica un importante centro educativo y por allí las escaleras que dan acceso del liceo a la plaza y viceversa, los muros que separan las caminerías son de color azul y los jardines también tienen en los bordes el color azul, los bancos se ubican en pisos de terracota y están hechos totalmente de concreto.
El diseño del poste es curioso y llamativo por su forma y figuras decorativas, estos se ubican estratégicamente en las esquinas y laterales de la plaza, para iluminar el terreno, podemos ver algunos de ellos en la parte trasera de la escultura de Simón Bolívar; además de las caminerías de concreto y terracota hay también espacios de tierra donde se ubican los jardines, los cuales están delimitados con pequeñas columnas de concreto, varios árboles, espercíficamente los más frondosos ubicados cerca de la iglesia están pintados de color blanco en la parte inferior, a esa hora de la mañana los encargadoos de mantenimiento y limpieza ya habían terminado su jornada, la plaza se veía hermosa, además el área de los jardines estaba un poco húmeda.
An aspect that caught my attention about the benches was the design they have on the back, it is stepped in shape and is adorned with figures in high relief, framed in a painting, the first one we see in the upper part of the back is the face of Simón Bolívar, below this are the patriotic symbols of the country; the flag, the shield and in the last box of the column it reads; National anthem of the Blivarian Republic of Venezuela, written on a parchment, made of concrete.
It is the first time that I observe this decorative detail on the benches, in previous visits I had not realized that they were there, or perhaps they were added recently, another striking aspect of the benches is that they do not have armrests, their design is definitely unique and very different from those that I have seen in various squares, as well as the decorative figures on the back, during my visit, which was in the morning, there were several people in the square talking, in fact, it constitutes an important point of reference and meeting in the city, in In general, the town squares are characterized by being meeting and recreation centers for residents and visitors. In addition, it has an excellent location, a few meters from the Orinoco viewpoint and the mayor's office.
It was very pleasant to visit the square again and this time it was in the company of my son, it is the first time that he has visited it and he thought it was beautiful and perfect for resting, while I walked observing the benches, which were the great attraction, I was able to talk with some gentlemen to find out about the figures on the benches and they do not know since when they were placed, some even did not know about these figures; Then we looked for a bench near the trees and sat for a while to rest and enjoy the cool morning breeze. Starting at eleven o'clock, when the heat and the sun's rays intensified, we moved to another area of the square looking for shade, but all the benches were occupied, we decided to go to an ice cream parlor and then home.
Un aspecto que llamó mi atención en los bancos, fue el diseño que tienen en el espaldar, es de forma escalonada y está adornado con figuras en alto relieve, enmarcadas en un cuadro, la primera que vemos en la parte superior del espaldar es el rostro de Simón Bolívar, debajo de esta se ubican los símbolos patrios del país; la bandera, el escudo y en el último cuadro de la columna se lee; Himno nacional de la República Blivariana de Venezuela, escrito en un pergamino, hecho de concreto.
Es la primera vez que observo este detalle decorativo en los bancos, en anteriores visitas no me había dado cuenta que estaban allí, o tal vez los agregaron recientemente, otro aspecto llamativo en los bancos es que no poseen posa brazos , definitivamente su diseño es único y muy diferente a los que he visto en varias plazas, así como las figuras decorativas en el espaldar, durante mi visita que fue en horas de la mañana, habían varias personas en la plaza conversando, de hecho, ella constituye un importante punto de referencia y encuentro en la ciudad, en general, las plazas de los pueblos, se caracterizan por ser centros de reuniones y esparcimiento de los habitantes y visitantes, además esta cuenta con una excelente ubicación, a pocos metros del mirador Orinoco y la alcaldía.
Fue muy grato visitar nuevamente la plaza y esta vez fue en compañía de mi hijo, es la primera vez que él la visita y le pareció bonita y perfecta para descansar, mientras caminaba observando los bancos, que fueron el gran atractivo, pude conversar con algunos señores para saber sobre las figuras en los bancos y no saben desde cuando las colocaron, algunos incluso, no sabían de estas figuras ; luego buscamos un banco cerca de los árboles y nos sentamos un rato a descansar y disfrutar la brisa fresca de la mañana, ya a partir de las once, cuando se intensificó el calor y los rayos solares, nos movimos a otra zona de la plaza buscando sombra, pero todos los bancos estaban ocupados, decidimos ir a una heladería y luego a casa.
