Hello traveling friends, it's a pleasure to greet you and hope you have a great day. I'm happy to share my visit to San Luis Beach and the open-ocean water sports competition with you. Last weekend, my son and I headed to the aforementioned beach, which stands out for its location and easy access. It's also the largest in the city. Upon arrival, I was struck by the number of people on the beach. It's usually very crowded on weekends, but on this occasion, there were a large number of people, as well as a platform and several boats on the shore. Or at least I thought they were boats, when in fact, they were watercraft and transport used in a sports competition. I must say it's the first time I've seen this type of transport (catamaran), and without wasting time, I asked the names of each one. Among them were the windsurfing and catamaran. The latter seemed striking to me because of its double hull and platform. They also explained to me that it's used to navigate shallow waters, for tourist tours, and for work. fishing and competitions.
Seeing that a sports competition was going to be held on the beach, our plan to swim was suspended for several hours and we decided to look for a place to watch the competition, it was somewhat difficult to find it, since most of the space was occupied by the aforementioned boats and the number of people, although I was away from the area with greater visibility for the competition, I was able to see this beautiful spectacle in the company of my son, it is incredible how the wind moves the sails of the windsurfers and the effort of each participant in this competition, the view of the sea with these colorful boats is spectacular, it was a special day at the beach, because we were able to watch the competition and then enjoy a refreshing swim at the beach.
Hola amigos viajeros es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan un excelente día, me siento feliz de compartir mi visita a la playa San Luis y la competencia de deportes acuáticos en mar abierto, el fin de semana pasado en compañía de mi hijo nos dirigimos a la playa mencionada, que destaca por su ubicación y fácil acceso, además es la más grande de la ciudad, al llegar me llamó la atención la cantidad de personas que habían en la playa, regularmente es muy concurrida los fines de semana, pero en esta ocasión había un gran número de personas, también una tarima y varios botes en la orilla, o al menos pensaba yo que eran botes, cuando en realidad se se trataba de transportes y embarcaciones acuáticas con los cuales se realizaría una competencia deportiva, debo decir que es la primera vez que veo este tipo de transporte (catamaran) y sin perder tiempo pregunté el nombre de cada uno de ellos, entre los cuales estaban el windsurf y catamaran, el último me pareció llamativo, por su doble casco y plataforma, además me explicaron que se usa para navegar aguas poco profundas, paseos a turistas, en labores de pesca y compentencias.
Al ver que se iba a realizar una competencia deportiva en la playa, nuestro plan de bañarnos fue suspendido por varias horas y decidimos buscar un lugar para poder ver el desarrollo de la competencia, fue un tanto difícil encontrarlo, ya que la mayoría del espacio estaba ocupado por las embarcaciones mencionadas y la cantidad de personas, aunque quedé alejada de la zona con mayor visibilidad para la competencia, pude en compañía de mi hijo ver este hermoso espectáculo, es increíble como el viento mueve las velas del windsurf y el empeño de cada participante en esta competencia, la vista del mar con estas embarcaciones coloridas es espectacular, fue un día de playa especial, pues pudimos ver la competencia y luego disfrutar un baño de playa refrescante.
Before starting the competition, I took a short walk along the beach and took the opportunity to take several photos of the different boats, some are flat, use oars and have a sail anchored in the center, they are a kind of ski board, but used in aquatic spaces, there were also others with motors, in addition to the coast guard boats that would monitor the competition and a great variety of small boats that would participate in this great competition, before starting, a group of coast guards who know the area did a small exploration, measured the speed and direction of the wind, after the instructions the competition began, it was very exciting to see the departure of each participant and their performance, everyone was shouting supporting and cheering the competitors, my son enjoyed watching this competition and was encouraged to take a boat ride.
While watching the competition, I remembered one I had seen several times in my childhood, called "Our Rivers Are Navigable." This competition takes place on several rivers in Venezuela, including the Orinoco River. Many people gather here to watch the boats cross the majestic Orinoco River. It includes states such as Bolívar, Amazonas, Apure, among others. It's a kind of aquatic rally. I felt a bit nostalgic when I remembered this event, which takes place annually with the participation of competitors from all over the country to bring joy and fun to families and visitors. It's a beautiful tour in colorful boats, by category.
Antes de iniciar la competencia, hice un pequeño recorrido por la orilla de la playa y aproveché para tomar varias fotos a las diferentes embarcaciones, algunas son planas, utilizan remos y llevan anclada en el centro una vela, son una especie de tabla de esquí, pero usada en espacios acuáticos, también habían otras con motor, además los botes de los guardacostas que vigilarían la competencia y una gran variedad de pequeñas embarcaciones que participarían en esta gran competencia, antes de iniciar, un grupo de guardacostas conocedores de la zona hicieron una pequeña exploración, midieron la velocidad y direción del viento, luego de las instrucciones se dio inicio a la competencia, fue muy emocionante ver la salida de cada participante y su desempeño, todos gritaban apoyando y animando a los competidores, mi hijo disfrutó ver esta competencia y se animó a dar un paseo en bote.
Mientras veía la competencia recordé una que vi varias veces en mi infancia, llamada "nuestros ríos son navegables" esta se realiza en varios ríos de Venezuela incluyendo el río Orinoco, muchas personas se dan cita a este lugar para ver las embarcaciones atravesar el majestuoso Orinoco y comprende estados como Bolívar, Amazonas, Apure, entre otros, es una especie de rally acuático; sentí un poco de nostalgia al recordar este evento que se lleva a cabo anualmente con la participación de competidores de todo el país para llevar alegría y diversión a las familias y visitantes, es un hermoso recorrido en coloridas lanchas, por categorías.
My favorite part of the competition on the beach was the Windsurfing. This type of boat is very striking and its sails are colorful, the contrast with the sea is really beautiful. I tried to take pictures of the other boats but due to the number of people on the beach I couldn't do it, also from where I was I didn't have a good angle for the photos, but it was still very fun and enjoyable to watch this competition in the company of my son. It was the first time he's seen this type of water competitions and he really liked it. He also got to know some of the boats that are used in water competitions.
Mi parte favorita de la competencia en la playa, fue el Windsurf este tipo de embarcación es muy llamativo y sus velas son coloridas, el contraste con el mar es realmente hermoso, intenté tomar fotos de las otras embarcaciones, pero debido a la cantidad de personas que había en la playa no pude hacerlo, además desde el lugar donde estaba no tenía un buen ángulo para las fotos, pero aún así fue muy divertido y agradable ver esta competencia en compañía de mi hijo, es la primera vez que él ve este tipo de competencias acuáticas y le gustó mucho, también conoció algunas de las embarcaciones que se emplean en las competencias acuáticas.
At the end of the competition, we were finally able to enjoy our swim on the beach. Each participant placed their boat in its corresponding spot, so everyone who was waiting, like me, could enjoy a refreshing swim on the beach. The competition was supposed to continue on Sunday, but due to various commitments, we were unable to attend, and we didn't find out who the winner was. 🏆 However, it was a pleasant experience to be part of this competition on the beach.
As evening fell, they set up the stage for the performance of the musical group and regional singers. As the sun set and night fell, the lights came on. The nightscape was beautiful, and the colors of the sky contrasted beautifully with the brightness of the light. After the performance, we returned home to sleep early, rest, and meet early Sunday commitments.
Al terminar la competencia pudimos finalmente disfrutar nuestro baño de playa, cada participante colocó su embarcación en el lugar correspondiente, así todos los que estaban esperando al igual que yo, pudieron disfrutar un refrescante baño en la playa, la competencia continuaría el día domingo pero por diversos compromisos no pudimos asistir y no tuvimos conocimiento de quien fue el ganador 🏆, sin embargo fue una agradable experiencia coincidir con esta competencia en la playa.
Al caer la tarde organizaron la tarima, para la presentación del grupo musical y cantantes regionales, con el ocaso del sol y llegada la noche, se encendieron las luces, el paisaje nocturno es hermoso y los colores del cielo hacen un lindo contraste con el brillo de la luz, luego de la presentación del grupo musical volvimos a casa, para dormir temprano, descansar y cumplir compromisos muy temprano el día domingo.
