Ah its been ages since I've travelled with friends and this time around our common friend has dropped down from Dubai so we made a quick 3 day plan to visit Mumbai and roam around.
P.S Do Watch The Video In The End
We had a train at 10:50 pm in the night so post that we had an Invite to the newly reopened Bakers treat.
So me and shashank decided to head out there have a good dinner and catch up with the other two friends directly at the station.
Here's what we had at Bakers Treat:
- Very Berry Milk Shake
- Pesto Pasta
- Chicken Kheema Rice
- BBQ Chicken Wings
We had quite a good time during the train travel, We even invented our own card game because none of us knew anything about playing cards LOL 🤣, we were supposed to reach by 3:50pm the next day but we ended up reaching at 6 PM we had a delay of almost 2 hours and uggh it was exhausting but hey we finally made it to Mumbai.
We met @lifeinanutshell at the station and took an Uber auto to her place. Me and Nikhil went in one auto and Divya, Suhaima & Shashank in another auto. Me and Niks reached first and we were thirsty ASF so we decided to get a nice refreshing glass of sugarcane juice and in Mumbai almost all places have sugarcane juices in the roadside. Best part about the sugarcane juice here is that the put pieces of ginger, pineapple and sometimes mint leaves into the crusher in multiple passes and this is something you must try in Mumbai.
Later that night we all went to this place called Raaga in Thane which is an Authentic Indian Fine Dine and in my personal opinion this place was unnecessarily expensive like a bucket of 5 Budweiser costed us Rs 1500 ($ 20)
Towards the end of dinner which was around 12 PM they got an amazing Chocolate cake onto the table it had a nice fondant work on top of a Camera, A mug of Coffee, A travel backpack and 4-5 Bitcoins (If Only They Were Real 🤣) and CHICKEN 😍 I'm not really keen on celebrating my birthday not sure why but mehh this was really nice of them.
Loads of wishes started coming in on me turning 25 and somehow every year theres always that one person you wait for to call and wish you but it never happens.
Anyways the next day we got up early in the morning to catch a bus to visit Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali, we had really nice day planned which includes boating cycling and a bit of sightseeing.
First up we went boating in the river and thanks to @varunpinto GoPro MAX I got to capture some mad memories of the entire trip. Post the short boating trip we rented out a few bicycles for Rs 80 each for 2 hours and additional Rs 20 for 30 minutes post the 2 hours.
We picked up the bicycles to go to Kanheri Caves which is about 7-8 KM from where we were and IT WAS THE WORST FUCKING DECISION EVER 😂 it was so exhausting that we decided to walk up the incline towards the end because we were drained but thankfully there are a couple of small stalls on the route selling Cold Lemonade which was a saviour.
We should have just taken the bust to the top which was a 5 minute journey ughh 😂 we were so relieved after reaching the entrance of the Kanheri Caves, We parked the bicycles and refreshed ourselves and went to get the entry tickets for the caves.
The Kanheri Caves complex was built over a long time ago and holds a collection of approximately 109 caves, with the earliest ones dating back to around the 1st century BCE. Kanheri Caves used to be a Buddhist monastery and a point for worship, study and meditation once upon a time and these caves are located within the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and you will need to trek through lush green forests to reach the caves but just dont take a non geared bicycle 😂
The word ‘Kanheri’ has been derived from Krishnagiri which is a Sanskrit word which means “Black Mountain” and this ancient monastery has been carved out of black basalt rock and has been a learning centre and pilgrimage site for Buddhists since ages now.
Most of the inscriptions in these caves are still undeciphered, but people tend to believe that the first excavations started sometime around the 1st or 2nd century BCE. The large halls with stupas/meditation centers suggest that these caves were significant as Buddhist shrines and that the place played an important role in the propagation of Buddhism in India.
We decided go crazy in this picture (Don’t Ask Me Why 😂 I Have No Clue)
This video was shot on my phone and was edited using GoPro Quik and it covers pretty much everything in this post so hope you guys enjoy it ✨
