Hello everyone. I hope you're well and everything is fine. Yesterday was the last day of Eid. There was almost no traffic density in Istanbul on the first day due to Eid. However, the second day and yesterday were almost much more than normal times. The reason for this is that motorways and bridges are free of charge. In addition, many people came to Istanbul from outside the city to visit during the holiday. Since the metro and metrobuses were free of charge, human traffic had also increased considerably. Today, traffic was a little more intense due to the Galatasaray- Fenerbahçe match.
Herkese merhaba. Umarım iyisinizdir ve her şey yolundadır. Dün bayramın son günüydü. Bayram dolayısıyla İstanbul’da ilk gün trafik yoğunluğu neredeyse hiç yoktu. Ancak ikinci gün ve dün neredeyse normal zamanlardan çok daha fazlaydı. Bunun sebebi ise otoyolların, köprülerin ücretsiz olması. Bunun yanında tatilde gezmek için birçok kişi şehir dışından İstanbul’a geldi. Metro ve metrobüslerde ücretsiz olduğu için insan trafiği de bayağı artmıştı. Bugün Galatasaray- Fenerbahçe maçından dolayı trafik biraz daha yoğundu.
My friend and I took a break from work on the second day of Eid and went on a trip to Beykoz by car. We expected the traffic to be heavy, but we never expected so much. We found it very difficult to find a place to park on the beach side. I had never been to the Beykoz side before, it was different for me. Of course, it would be much better if the roads were empty. 😅
Arkadaşımla birlikte bayramın ikinci günü işe ara verip arabayla Beykoz tarafına geziye çıktık. Trafiğin yoğun olduğunu tahmin ediyorduk ancak bu kadar aşırısını hiç beklemiyorduk. Sahil tarafında park edecek yeri çok zor bulduk. Beykoz tarafına daha önce hiç gitmemiştim. Benim içinde farklılık oldu. Tabi yollar boş olsa çok daha güzel olacaktı. 😅
Although the blossoming tree by the beach showed that spring had come, the weather was quite cold. I was dressed a little thin because I went out without checking the weather forecast. Although April has come, I will not go out without checking the weather forecast from now on. 😅
I think Beykoz coast side is one of the most beautiful districts of Istanbul. Its greenery and sea resembles the Black Sea.
Sahil kenarında çiçek açan ağaç her ne kadar baharın geldiğini göstermiş olsa da hava bayağı soğuktu. Hava durumuna bakmadan çıktığım için biraz ince giyinmiştim. Nisan ayı gelmiş olsa da bundan sonra hava durumuna bakmadan dışarı çıkmayacağım. 😅
Beykoz sahil tarafı sanırım İstanbul’un en güzel ilçelerinden birisi. Yeşilliği ve denizi Karadenizi andırıyor.
Taking advantage of the holiday, many people were fishing with the sunset. I love fishing too and I am even thinking of buying a fishing rod, but I think I would not go to such trouble in such a crowd. After spending some time on the Beykoz coast, we headed towards Çengelköy from Kuleli. The traffic was a little calmer.
Tatili fırsat bilen birçok insan gün batımı eşliğinde balık tutuyordu. Balık tutmasını ben de çok seviyorum hatta olta almayıda düşünüyorum ancak bu kadar kalabalığın içinde sanırım böyle bir zahmete girmem. Beykoz sahilinde biraz vakit geçirdikten sonra Kuleli’nin ordan Çengelköy’e doğru yol aldık. Trafik biraz daha sakinleşmişti.
We visited my friend's relatives in Çengelköy and celebrated their Eid. They hosted us very well. We had dinner and then they offered us tea.
After chatting for about an hour, we left and travelled to Beykoz again.
Çengelköy’de arkadaşımın akrabalarını ziyaret edip, bayramlarını kutladık. Bizi çok güzel ağırladılar. Yemek yedik ve arkasından çay ikram ettiler.
Bir saat kadar muhabbet ettikten sonra ayrıldık ve tekrar Beykoz tarafına yol aldık.
On my way back, I took photos of the houses that caught my attention along the way. People living here are really lucky. They watch the view of the district from the most beautiful place. Frankly, I would like to be in the place of these people. I guess it would not be bad to drink tea with greenery and Bosphorus view. 😅
Dönüş yaparken yol boyunca dikkatimi çeken evlerin fotoğraflarını çektim. Buralarda yaşayan insanlar gerçekten çok şanslı. İlçenin manzarasını en güzel yerden seyrediyorlar. Açıkçası bu insanların yerinde olmak isterdim. Yeşillik ve boğaz manzarası eşliğinde çay içmek sanırım hiç fena olmazdı. 😅
I took the photo of the Elmalı dam in Beykoz on the first day of Eid. The view is really beautiful. Since there is a lot of rainfall this year, the filling rate in the dam has increased. Not only this dam but also the water level in other dams has increased considerably. Probably Istanbul will not suffer from water shortage for a few years, but it is still useful not to waste water.
Beykoz’da bulunan Elmalı barajınının fotoğrafını bayramın ilk günü çekmiştim. Manzarası gerçekten çok güzel. Bu sene yağış çok fazla olduğu için barajdaki doluluk oranı artmış. Sadece bu baraj değil diğer barajlarda da su seviyesi bayağı arttı. Muhtemelen birkaç sene İstanbul su sıkıntısı çekmez ancak yine de israf etmemekte fayda var.
Finally, I would like to share the Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridge. I took this photo when I was leaving work at night. I think you can see the Bosphorus most clearly from this bridge, but the photos I took because it was foggy were not very good. That's why I'm just sharing this one, I hope you like it. This sounds like such a fun and peaceful trip! Even with the traffic, it must have been nice to explore Beykoz for the first time. The mix of sea, greenery, and beautiful views sounds perfect. And yes of course, it is always a good idea to check the weather forecast before any trip !
The trip would have been much better without the traffic, but it was still not bad. Yes, my friend, from now on I will definitely check the weather forecast and go out 😅

Beykoz just looks so peaceful by the water, even with the people around. One of my dreams would be to sit there with tea and watch the boats pass by, awesome goal for me now
