RE: Lake Scropoasa in the heart of the mountains, Romania

in Worldmappin7 months ago

I think I could call you "forest girl", of course not in the negative sense that this name appears in our stories and legends. I have come to this opinion by reading your recent posts, you say you are in love with the forest and are happy whenever you can walk the mountain paths.

I'm trying to understand why I remain just a sea lover. I think some phobias are to blame, like fear of heights and claustrophobia. I like open spaces and seeing the horizon. Sorry, I was talking about myself and that's not the case.

I'm thinking that the attraction to hiking in the mountains is also the energy that youth gives.
I love that you promote the beauties of Romania and that it feels like you sincerely love these places.

In my youth I also liked to travel with friends, I went to the mountains once, haha, but mostly to the sea. The holidays in 85-90 at the sea, at Vama Veche and 2 Mai, remained the best memories with our friends. Then there were more than ten, now there are three left (and not one of them died, among those who are no more)...
So enjoy your friends when they are still around!

Oh God, that's not good. You're missing out on a lot of wonderful things.
If I were to choose between sea or mountains, I would choose the latter, without thinking. We have so many wonderful mountains here.

True, but we don't choose our phobias. We have a beautiful country and the mountains contribute a lot to this beauty.
When I refer to the sea I don't necessarily think of our Black Sea, I try not to be necessarily patriotic.

I know you were not particularly referring to the Black Sea. For me, there's no sea that could beat the mountains.

It is normal to be so. You live close to the mountains.
I exaggerated a bit, I like the mountains too, I've done a few hikes too but the sea was more accessible.

I do love our Romania and the last few years I visited quite a few places and there are still more to see. I think hiking and the mountains give us a totally feeling than the sea, but I'm not saying one is better than other. I love both and I appreciate the beauty of them because where I live I dont have big mountains or the dark blue see.
I'm sorry you have those phobias, I wonder if they were still when you were young..

Yes, I preffer hiking through the mountains and forests....I think. The sea...is something else. More to relax. But the mountains gives u a different relaxation.

I'll see the sea soon, our sea. 💙

The fact that you love Romania and pass this on to your son is very nice and I admire you for that, @missdeli!
The fact that you want and can enjoy both the sea and the mountains equally is the best choice and you have the biggest reward.
I was drawn to the sea by several things, firstly I have always been drawn to the water.

My phobias are smaller, more timid and don't bother me much. Height sickness is more pronounced, whenever I'm up on something very high I'm tempted to try flying without a parachute. So far I have resisted this temptation...

You will go to the sea, to the Black Sea, to us. I guess I can guess when and where. At Easter, in Constanta, right?

I also have two trips planned, to two seas. One week after Easter, to the Black Sea, to the Lighthouse, near Balchik, and in June, to the Sithonia peninsula, near Athos. I will betray Thassos but without my will. On the other hand, I'm glad to see another part of Greece.

You know when God laughs?
When we plan for the future!

I hope he doesn't laugh at my plans...

I'm sorry for my late reply...my life has been a bit....let's say different, the last two weeks.

Yes, I am in Cta at the moment. You were right.
Sithonia sounds nice, its on my list too. The fact that is a bit more closer makes it approachable. I would enjoy visiting other parts of Greece too and even if its not Thassos, I am sure you would enjoy your time. You cant go wrong with Greece.
Two trips to the sea sounds really amazing!

I hope all your plans will be checked on the list.

I think I could call you "forest girl"

Sorry @bluemoon, I could not resist 😂

Ha, ha... I don't mind at all. I'd love to be the " forest girl " but, considering I'm over 70, I can only be the " forest mother", in Romanian: Baba Cotoroanta! I'd need a broom to fly...

Baba Cotoroanta

😂 This is something I haven't heard for decades and brought back kindergarten memories. One of the kids told my grandmother she's Baba Cotoroanta and she got so mad 😁

You flying a broom? Would be interesting for sure!

Did I say broom? Wrong... I meant vacuum cleaner. I train every week.

😂

Thanks, I need to practice more.

I just realized we hijacked @missdeli's post 😬 😂

Thats funny too 😂😂😂😂

Omg soo sooo funny! I had a serious laugh with this one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
However, dont be surprised seeing me like that. My brain is still young 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can imagine you as Mrs Tarzan 😂 and there's nothing wrong in doing such things, regardless of your or anyone's age 😉
