Oh man, that looks like a beautiful hike. I've only been to the highest point in one place: Texas, which is Guadalupe Peak at roughly 8,700 ft. It definitely wasn't as pretty. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful in its own way. But we got there midday, it was hot, and everything—and I mean everything—was brown! I'm more a fan of greenery.
