A great experience trekking around this monastery with you! I have grown to love these ancient religious sites as I see more and more of the world. The trove of icons left around the spring was an amazing sight!
I was in Istanbul late last year and have a growing appreciation of the history and culture that flowed all around this part of Europe. Bulgaria is on my list of places to see over the next few years. This monastery is definitely worth including in that itinerary.
Also, you have a cool job!! I'd enjoy reading a few posts about that career...
