I am surprised at how I was welcomed with so much love and support by every awesome hiver on this amazing platform. I felt loved. My notifications pop up nonstop an hour after I posted my first blog. No words could explain how much you made me so happy and excited to learn more things here on Hive. Thank you so much!

As promised, I will share with you my trip to Bohol last month. Let me go ahead and give an insight into why I chose to be there instead of going somewhere.

Alright, let's go!

My very first plan to go to Bohol for a vacation was way back before the pandemic began. Back then, I was still working at my previous company and my team agreed to hold our next team building in Bohol. Then, the pandemic happened, we had to work at home, and our Bohol vacation plan disappeared into the thin air.

Moving fast forward to 2022, I got hired by another company. There I met my workmate, Jame, who turns out to be from Bohol. He invited me to go to his hometown and offered to be my tour guide in Bohol. With all excitement, I took the time to order a few sets of new clothes and swimwear online for me to wear on my upcoming vacation!

We finally went there during the last week of July. We stayed at a resort in the town of Panglao during our first two nights. We didn't visit the farther places yet during that time. We just roamed around the Panglao island and the city of Tagbilaran. Near the resort we were staying at is the Alona Beach, which has a nice view of the horizon as well as the white sand shoreline. There are restaurants and bars on the beach side which are open up until 12 midnight. Musical performers and fire dancers can also be seen in the middle of the crowd. We went there on the first night. We just brought snacks and a few bottles of beer and sat on the fine sand.

We started our second day by going to a nearby beach --- a more peaceful one. All that can be seen are the rock formations, the bushes the trees, the sand, and the sea horizon. It was a perfect place for camping. We went there as early as 6:30 in the morning. We changed our clothes first into our swimming attires, took pictures of ourselves, took a 30-minute dip into the water, and went back to the resort, only to sleep until the evening. When we woke up around 6 in the evening, we met with Jame's friends, Kaye and Liway, to eat at a samgyupsal restaurant. After eating, we went to the Alona beach again and had some beer.

On the third day, we checked out from the resort and went to Jame's home. There I got to meet his family and their super cute dog, Kuchi! I really had so much fun playing with her that I slept for the whole afternoon right after. In the evening, we met with Jame's other friends, Andres and Ace, still together with Kaye and Liway. We had a barbecue at Dauis Bridge and had some beer at the old Tagbilaran Airport now Tagbilaran Night Market.

On the next day, Jame and I finally started our road trip. We first stopped by the Baclayon church which was heavily damaged during the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Bohol last 2013. The church is now completely rehabilitated though, thanks to God.

Our second stop was at the man-made forest in the town of Bilar. I was really amazed by the tall green trees that surround the area. I could barely hear any sound other than those made by vehicles and other people passing by the highway. I could also smell the fresh air and couldn't help but compare it with the air we breathe here in Cebu City.

Finally, we arrived at the Chocolate Hills in the town of Carmen! Until now, I still can't get enough of the mesmerizing view. It was very tiring taking the steps all the way to the top of the hill, but it was definitely worth it! We took lots of pictures there with lots of takes because other tourists were roaming here and there.

Before we left, we went to the souvenir store to buy shirts for ourselves but since we were almost out of money, we just bought wristbands.

Then, we went back to Jame's house and took a rest. The next morning, we attended a mass in the cathedral in Tagbilaran. We then traveled back to Cebu in the evening.

This was what the morning sky looks like when are about back to Cebu City and that was August 1! Amazing isn't it?

But wait there's more...
And those will be shared on my next blog. Thank you so much! I can't wait to show you more!

See you on my next blog! Love you!
