Hi All!👋
I absolutely love travelling to new places, experiencing new cultures and seeing cities I've never seen before.
This is going to be a series of my trips around the world.
CHAPTER 1: BARCELONA
Let's start with my favorite city- Barcelona! 2019 was when I went to Barcelona with my family and it has been the most memorable trip of my life so far.
Ever since I can remember, this has been my dream city. A perfect blend of old architecture, with the bustling and lively crowd-Barcelona is a city I would love to live in someday.
I remember landing at the airport and waiting 3 hours to make it through immigration. But the wait didn't matter-I was so pumped to be in the city.
Once we left the airport, we hopped on a bus to Catalunya Plaza- one of the most happening spots in town and which happened to be be where our hotel was.
Wasting no time, I found myself walking in down the streets of Barcelona, and everything just felt right. As though I belonged there. It was surreal.
The streets were absolutely stunning. Of course La Rambla being the one street which we could not miss. With the bustling crowd, artists making caricatures, every kind of food possible, the open restaurants with giant sangria glasses- it was just bliss for me.
Churros at La Rambla!
An artist's amazing portraits
This is a fresh food market that sold everything from fruits, spices, oils and seafood. Bought some amazing infused olive oils that I still have and use today!
Some common street food with beer!
And of course, we had to do the most touristy thing and hop onto the city bus to see the Sagrada Familia. A monument that is at the heart of Barcelona and one that was just so intricately created. A treat to the eyes indeed!
One more experience that I vividly remember was visiting a vineyard-Llopart. For the first time in my life did I go to one, and it was just stunning. Here, I had the opportunity to try out some world-class wines and it was most definitely an experience of a lifetime.
The huge vineyard spanned acres of land on a hill. It was far out from the city but definitely worth visiting.
This may seem like an odd image but it's actually a large stack of wine bottles-and there were so many more!
Finally, I have to include a photo dump of some purely touristy images. hope you enjoy!
Center of Catalunya Plaza- also the view from my hotel room!
This city showed a stark contrast yet a perfect harmony of old and new. There was never a dull moment in the city. This was a trip I will never forget. Barcelona has my heart and I surely go back again. Barcelona, without a doubt, bags the top stop among all the cities I have visited till date.
Thanks for sticking around to read this! There's a lot more to come.
Until next time!😄
Adios
