When you hear the word historical, few people would equate buildings and a park that are over 700 yrs old.
The historic city of Ayutthaya was founded in 1350. Today this historic city is managed as a Historical Park and recognized by UNESCO as a Heritage Site.
The Park is about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok in the city of Ayutthaya.
The Park contains the ruins of the previous empires throughout it’s history. There are historic Temples and a Palace among the ruins.
The Ayutthaya kingdom existed from 1351 to 1767. Most of the city was burned by the invading Burmese army in 1767.
During the 400 year reign of power they built temples that can be seen today. This 19 meter Buddha statue was quite impressive.
There are plenty of places for incredible art photos of ruins , the grounds, the trees and more. These tree roots were amazing.
You can pick out the sculpted face from the tree bark.
Ancient ruins and walking the grounds of civilization that was here 600+ years ago is something we should all have a chance to to do in studying our history.
The park was not crowded and there was no entrance fee to the park. There was a 50 BHT charge to enter some of the temples.
The ruins provided a great silohette photo as the sun was setting on a perfect day exploring the park.
You can really get some great photos with the various color schemes contrasted with the blue sky. This is one of my favorite.
Thank you so much for reading and allowing me to share my journey in such a historic setting.
The 19m statue is indeed very impressive.
Thank you very much… It is the place that attracts most tourists and beautiful.
