Best, really, that you shouldn't need me. I might be here, although here could be anywhere at any given moment, and any moment could be right now or tomorrow or the yesterday I never wanted to end.
I tell myself that I will live here one day... but, truly, I already do. Here is where I come back to life after the burdens of home have rendered the feathers of my soul too sodden for flight.
If you need me, I won't be home.
But I will.
Photos taken in the Olympic National Forest in Washington State, USA, which surrounds the Olympic Range and Olympic National Park. Most of the photos here are from the Hamma Hamma region in Mt Skokomish Wilderness. A few are from the Buckhorn Wilderness, north of Hamma Hamma. Below is a map of the region from the Olympic National Forest webpage.
I haven't explored even a fraction of the trails this region has to offer, but I hope to one day say I have explored most of them. At least those in the National Forest, as dogs are not allowed on trails in the National Park and hiking without a dog is, for me, no way to have a good time.
Bears live here, and although I have only ever observed evidence of bear, I hope to one day see one of these noble residents of the Olympics in person. Until then I can dream of the day, and wonder what kind of a crazy dream deathwish that really is, wanting to meet the top carnivore of the country in her house on her terms...

That's cool and then they know exactly where to find you when you're not needed.
It always works that way, doesn't it. Especially when you urgently need to be needed before rent and subie payment comes due.

Exquisite photographs. What did you skip on that day though? :D
I skipped out on being a city girl, which I may skip out on entirely one day...
The white border gives a deserved highlight to the excellent images of the natural park 👌
