After a summer vacation in the countryside with my family, I have returned to Da Nang city to start a new job. I have lived and worked in this city for eight years because of many favorable factors of this tourist city. It has two sea bays, rivers, lakes and mountains are full so the tourism industry here is very developed. I work as a local guide, my ego is too high for me to work for a certain travel agency, so I organize my own day trips to explore for nature lovers. Summer is at its peak here and the weather during the day is quite hot. I will take tourists or young people to explore beautiful waterfalls and streams to relax and it is often located deep in the dense forests in the suburbs. Yesterday, a friend and I went to the front station to explore the source of Khe Ram stream, which is quite famous in these summers. The end of it is already crowded with people and I don't like that, I want each person who comes with me later to experience the private and unspoiled space without service huts and concretization around the area.
It is located in Hoa Bac commune in the territory of Da Nang city, Vietnam, about 30km from the city center. Because it is located at the foot of the majestic Bach Ma mountain range, it still has primeval tropical forests and a pleasant climate. I chose to explore its headwaters behind steep mountains, and we found a trail of rattan-harvesting foresters. It wasn't too long for a hike of about 3km but it was steeped by rocky mountains, and we had to cross the tops of two hills to get deeper into the forest.
The trip is also joined by three-month-old Boi, my dog is being trained by me to get used to the forest. He is very active and loves to run, so I often stop to let him rest and drink, while we enjoy the view from above of the small houses in the mountains.
After nearly two hours of climbing and resting in the middle of the road, we also heard the sound of water flowing from a waterfall. We had to trace shrubs and thorns across the downhill terrain to get down. This is a quite beautiful stream and consists of three cascades of waterfalls. Although the waterfall is not high and big, the water is very clear and has beautiful and clean pebble beaches. Under the hot sun and the absorption of heat from the surrounding rocks, I chose the second cascade because there is a fairly flat rock and located in the shade of the trees.
Impressive to me is the cold feeling of the water when I first jump into the fascinating water. The water upstream is much colder than downstream and I enjoy the cold shower and sunbathing on the surrounding rocks. A very refreshing feeling in this private and natural place.
My dog Boi is also very excited to go swimming to cool off on this hot summer day. Swimming is also very good even though he was born in a cold country, but he is slowly adapting to the new land with me.
We brought a few snacks mainly sandwiches and mostly fruit for lunch. The cold water of the spring is quite suitable for preserving them and making them taste better.

Me and another male friend went to explore above the waterfall at the top, it has steep cliffs and is very difficult to climb. We followed the forest trees along the stream to cross and explore more of the beauty around it. Natural rock niches form interesting natural baths for swimming and relaxing. I also look for the small beauties of the surrounding mountains and forests such as flowers and moss and lichens around. Or beautiful old rotting logs that can be used to decorate mini aquariums.
We were free to swim and explore around and rest until the afternoon when the clouds signaled the coming storm. The ending was early for safety and we were satisfied with the trip. I can organize trips to experience and explore later as a guide. Thank you for following my blog.
Congratulations on your new job!
Your dog is super cute! 🙂 And that place is lovely. Water looks clean and refreshing. I would probably take a dip there too!

Yes, the water is very cold and the sunbathing on the rocks is even better.
