This Barangay contains few houses, commercial buildings and most of the residents here are fishermen, one of the most popular source of income here are selling lots of fish.
Lots of ships and fishing boats always passing near at the Barangay and most of the sea vehicles passing here are fishing boats. There are some parts of Barangay Calangahan that are already sanctuaries just to keep the marine animals multiplies very fast. This wide sea areas is the perfect spots for fishing in fact there are lots of fishes, crabs, shrimps and sea shells can be seen and found here.
As we go to the coastal areas of Barangay Calangahan, we can see lots of corals covered with sea weeds with lots of Marine animals living under those stones. Sea shells are everywhere sticking at the top of the coral stones. Not all of the place contains lots of big coral stones, there are also some parts of the place contains lots of fine sands were children can play and built sand castles.
Every low tide, there are lots of rock pools and some animals like dogs walked and catching fishes trapped at the rock pools. Every high tide, this place is totally sunked by sea water and it is very deep in here. It was lucky for me during my travel adventure because it was low tide and I can see those place. Lots of big stones that is already washed out near at the shore and I can truly imagined how strong the waves are that even big stones are been washed out here.
This big concrete walls helps the place for bot being eroded or collapsing everytime when big and rough waves happens here. At the top of this concrete walls are some houses built. Concrete walls are built very unique mixing with piled big chunks of stones to have a strong foundations. Those big stones are piled carefully and perfectly so the structure will become perfect built.
Because of big and wide low tide, some of the small boats made of light materials like plywoods, round lumbers and bamboos are placed here. The tied using a big rope so it wont washed away by waves when high tide came. Small boats helps those fishermen so they can be abled to set sail to the sea and also for local tourism. Many people who came from far place loves to ride small boats as part of their beach adventure.
This big pile of stones was put in here to make a long bay walk but as the big waves occured those piled of rocks collapsed and destroyed resulting the constructing of bay walk unfinished and abandoned. The ecosystem here very healthy and it can see on those sea water plants grows at the stones.
This tall and big billboards also locates here at barangay Calangahan. Because of the high elevated place because of rock cliffs, some of the establishments installed this big billboards and tall cellphone towers, so the people or travelers can easily seen the advertisements very clearly.
Visiting Barangay Calangahan in Lugait Misamis Oriental is perfect particularly on the beach and coastal places. A perfect place for a visit specially during summer season. Thats all for today's blg, have a nice day everyone.
