Hello Hive travelers! Welcome to my new travel blog. Have you heard of Baguio City's Botanical Garden? Or have you visited this place? If yes, let us reminisce about our experiences when we were there. If not, be inspired and plan a visit in the future.
The Botanical Garden
The Baguio Botanical Garden is located at Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City, in Benguet. It is popular and a must-visit tourist attraction of the city since it has a lot of plant species, either exotic or indigenous ones. If you are a plantito/plantita (green thumb individual), you will surely love to explore the scenes inside the botanical garden.
How to get in?
We need to pay an entrance fee worth 100 pesos at the counter in front of the gate. They also offer discounts for kids and senior citizens. If I remember, 25 pesos for kids 12 years old and below and a 20 percent discount for senior citizens. When we went there, there were lots of people lining up to get in. My wife paid for the four of us, and we were so excited to see the beauty of the garden.
Before we got inside the garden, we took a pose first in front of the structure that has the name Baguio Botanical Garden. We also observe that there are natives of the province who will join the picture and will ask for the fee after. But in our case, we had a quick photo opportunity using my phone.
What to expect?
We got inside the garden, and I really appreciated the contour of the land on which the structures were built. It is very nice to see that they did not scrape the area to make it plain and to build structures on it. We went down the stairs, and our companions asked me to take them photos as we continued our way. I have observed that even though there are still lots of plants and flowers, some of them are dying and need to be replaced with new ones. Maybe because of the season when we visited Baguio.
There are giant structures of animals like bears, elephants, and more. I have seen small plants, and Ma'am Yeyen told me that these are for sale. How I wish it were just near Cebu so that I could buy some of them. But since we have a side trip after Baguio, I just look at the plants and hope they are also available in the garden located in our province.
The Filipino-Chinese Friendship Garden
I don't know the reason why they have this area inside the botanical garden, but I like its lush greenery view. The Chinese structures attract one's eyes. There is a giant panda in this area, and you can really feel the blooming vibes because of the flowers. I have captured some of the beautiful flowers, and it can really change our mood from a stressful feeling to a relaxing and vibrant one.
We did not take a longer time in here. We went back to the gate, but before we exited, we had the chance to have a family photo. We waited for our other companions and went outside. Jehoia and I bought some strawberry ice cream and got inside the van. After our visit to this place, we went directly to our rented transient house.
If you plan to visit Baguio City in the future, include the botanical garden in your list. Maybe one day they will have more to offer to tourists. I hope and pray for your plan to travel to the summer capital of the Philippines.
