Village El Saltón/Cuba [Eng- Esp]

Today I intend that we to visit a motel located in the heart of the Sierra Maestra, on the premises of the mountainous municipality of the Tercer Frente, in the province of Santiago de Cuba.Hello friends of #WorldMapping, it is my pleasure to greet you up on here in a mean time I try to take you with me to another beautiful corner of my eastern Cuba.

Sinuous and rugged is the road that takes us to Cruces de los Baños, head of the Tercer Frente municipality. But we do not stop at its header town, but we turn west and continue on the way to a small semi -urban community known as Filé.
It is necessary to tell you that both, the road and the transportation in these areas, becomes really difficult, so the residents of these communities are used to making long times waiting for transport or long walks to reach their respective destinations.
In my case, I have enjoyed these paths, sometimes on foot and sometimes in comfortable transports.
The whole journey is spectacular, vegetation, the steep mountains, the colorful and varied of their natural environment, the many palm trees that watch over the fields, the small communities that are invented as colorfull spots in the mountain range, and the kind and sociable nature of its inhabitants.

In the midst of all that green, south of Filé and a few kilometers before the Jibarera, it is "El Saltón" motel "
Beautiful site that owes its name to a water jump that has been for a long time, part of the attractions offered by this place to national and foreign tourism.
Although time has not done a lot of dent in its natural case, the motel facilities have suffered the onslaught of the scarcity and administrative negligence; But that is an issue that I prefer to put aside and focus on the benefits of the place.
Here the river is peaceful except in rainy seasons.The coffee tree grows dominating the vegetation and it is easy to find a variety of fruits, depending on the season of the year. (Mangos, guabas, prumbs, oranges, and many others)
Climbing on its slopes and hills is an experience of pleasure, although strenuous.
Also the gastronomic offers in terms of flavors and quality, complement the temptation to remain in such a cozy place.

I have much more to tell you about "El Saltón" but, serve this post as a letter of presentation to a site that is far from the main tourist destinations but that is undoubtedly, a beautiful place that is worth visiting.

Hoy pretendo que visitemos un motel enclavado en el corazón de la Sierra Maestra, en predios del montañoso municipio de Tercer Frente, en la provincia de Santiago de Cuba.Hola amigos de #worldmapping, es mi placer saludarles para intentar llevarlos conmigo a otro rincón hermoso de mi Cuba Oriental.

Sinuosa y accidentada es la carretera que nos lleva hasta Cruce de los Baños, cabecera del municipio Tercer Frente. Pero no nos detenemos en su poblado cabecera, sino que giramos hacia el oeste y seguimos camino hacia una pequeña comunidad semi urbana conocida como Filé.
Se hace necesario decirles que tanto el camino como la transportación en estas zonas, se torna realmente dificil, por lo que los vecinos de estas comunidades están acostumbrados a realizar largas jornadas en espera del transporte o largas caminatas para llegar a sus respectivos destinos.

En mi caso, he disfrutado de estos caminos algunas veces a pie y otras en cómodo transporte.
Todo el trayecto es espectacular, la vegetación, las empinadas montañas, lo colorido y variado de su entorno natural, las muchas palmeras que vigilan los campos, las pequeñas comunidades que se inventan como pintorescas manchas en la serranía, y la naturaleza bondadosa y sociable de sus moradores.
En medio de todo aquel verde, al sur de Filé y unos kilómetros antes de La Jibarera, se encuentra el motel "El Salón"
Bellísimo sitio que debe su nombre a un salto de agua que ha sido por mucho tiempo, parte de las atracciones que ofrece este lugar al turismo tanto nacional como extranjero.
Aunque el tiempo no ha hecho mucha mella en su caso natural, las instalaciones del motel han sufrido el embate de las escaceses y las negligencias administrativas; pero ese es un tema que prefiero dejar de lado y enfocarnos en las bondades del lugar.

Aquí el río es apacible excepto en temporadas lluviosas. Los cafetos dominan la vegetación y es fácil encontrar variedad de frutas (mangos, guayabas, mameyes, ciruelas, naranjas, mandarinas y muchas otras, dependiendo de la temporada del año.
Escalar por sus laderas y colinas es toda una experiencia de placer, aunque extenuante.
También las ofertas gastronómicas en cuanto a sabores y calidad, complementan la tentación de permanecer en un sitio tan acogedor.
Tengo mucho más que contarles pero, sirva este post como carta de presentación a un sitio que está lejos de los principales destinos turísticos pero que es sin dudas, un lugar hermoso que vale la pena visitar.
