Discover the ancient railway track of Don Ca - A forgotten beauty in the middle of Hai Van mountains and forests

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Hello dear friends! I'm glad to see you all again in today's weekend post. In today's post, I will write about the trip, which I just experienced this weekend. The place I would like to introduce is the Don Ca railway track. In last weekend's post, I had a morning to catch the sunrise at the top of Hai Van mountain. The location of Don Ca train track is also located on the Hai Van pass. It can be said that Hai Van pass has a total distance of 21km, stretching from Da Nang city to Lang Co town of Hue city. In the distance of 21km, Hai Van mountain has many attractive places to visit, for those who love adventure, want to conquer the difficult roads of Hai Van pass, this is the ideal place. As everyone knows in the previous article, you can see the beauty of Hai Van mountain in the early morning. When the sun begins to rise from the sea, lies behind the Son Tra mountain range. Between Hai Van mountain and Son Tra mountain, each place will have its beauty, if Son Tra has the beauty of beaches and along rocky shores. Then, Hai Van mountain is a place that contains traces of history, under the mountains are train tunnels, streams and high waterfalls. Besides, Hai Van mountain is also a tourist connection point between the coastal city of Da Nang and the ancient capital of Hue. Those opposites have made this place a place that anyone wants to visit once and explore around here.

With a wild and peaceful beauty, the Hai Van pass station has many beautiful virtual living corners like in fairy tales, attracting young people to register. About 40 km from the centre of Da Nang, if you go through Hai Van Quan about 5 km, you will see a small road on the right hand leading to Hai Van Bac station. The road here is downhill and uphill, you need to be careful, choose a car as a means of transport to be safer. Hai Van Bac station in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province, is the connecting point from Lang Co station to Hai Van station. After going from the top of Hai Van Pass, you will travel another 5km distance. At km 5 close to the ventilation tunnel of Hai Van tunnel, there will be a cheap route down to Bac Hai Van station. In front of this road, there is a house opposite, people can see the house is planted with lots of pink flowers in the front yard, this house is the residence of the people who work at the Hai Van ventilation tunnel. , I went quite early, so the sky today is quite beautiful. In the early morning, Hai Van pass is quite empty, you can experience the natural scenery here to the fullest. The road leading down to Hai Van Bac station has many steep sections, the road here is also quite slippery because few people come here, the road is covered with green moss. The two sides of the road leading down to Hai Van Bac station were quite cool because we were walking under the forest trees. Go to the end of this road, you will reach Hai Van Bac station. Arriving at Hai Van Bac station, you can park your car there to continue your journey to reach the Don Ca arch bridge. You can park your car at Hai Van Bac station for 10 thousand VND, parking here will be safe, avoiding losing everyone's vehicle.

On today's trip, I went with a friend of mine. To get to Hai Van Bac station, it took us about 1 hour by motorbike, from Da Nang city centre. At Hai Van, Bac station is the connection point between Hai Van Bac and Hai Yunnan stations. Hai Van Nam Station is located at the foothills of Hai Van Mountain in Da Nang City and Hai Van Bac Station is under the management of Thua Thien Hue Province. If travelling by train, you can experience the scenery of the train, going into the tunnels through the mountains. On the train will lead you to visit all the beauty of the sea of Da Nang, along with the high mountains of Hai Van. Every 15 minutes at the train tracks, there will be sections of trains running through the mountains. You will be able to easily admire the beauty of the trains when passing through this place. At Hai Van Bac station, there are two apricot trees, in spring the apricot tree will bloom once. This is the typical flower for the Lunar New Year, the people of central Vietnam. I will come here once a year to admire the beauty of the two plum trees in front of the station in full bloom. This year the apricot tree is about to bloom, but it has not yet bloomed like every year. I guess in just over a week, the flower tree in front of Hai Van Bac station will be in full bloom.

The purpose of our trip this time is to go to Vom Don Ca bridge, which is located above Hai Van Bac station. Located on the right-hand side of the chicken house, you will move about 1km to reach Don Ca Bridge. If you can't find the way, you can ask the guards of Bac Hai Van station. To get to Don Ca arch bridge, you will travel on train tracks. The train tracks near the chicken house will have two different tracks. Move another 100m, the tracks will merge into one, you can see the signs of and signs on the tracks, I don't know the meaning of each of these signs. But I guess it's the pole that determines the position of the railroad tracks. Going on the track, you will encounter the pristine coastline at the foot of the mountain, if you want to go to the beach here, you will move along the small streams to follow the water to reach the coast. On the way, we encountered a train passing by, this train was a freight train. The first time I went, I was quite surprised when I saw the train approaching. It looks dangerous, but the two sides of the track are also quite wide and there will be a place to hide from the train for me and my friends. I took a lot of pictures of this road so that everyone could observe the beauty of this place. After moving nearly 800m, this road will have a bridge made of wood and concrete. This bridge crosses a small stream. This bridge is called Bai Ka with a length of 19m, under Bai Ka bridge there will be a small stream. I went down to this stream to wash my face to wake up for the journey ahead, on the stone pillar of the bridge, there is a notice that the distance of the Don Ca arch bridge is only 200m from this area. Continuing to move the track, the tracks undulate along the mountainside, surrounded by high mountains. It will be great to shoot with a drone, from above you will have a panoramic view of the surroundings. Quite a pity I forgot to bring my drone today. After going 200m, we came across the Don Ca arch bridge, from above we could see everywhere. Don Ca arch bridge has a height of about 50m, below the bridge, is a fast-flowing stream, with large and wide water holes. Looking to the right, there is a shrine. I walked down this temple to see what it was, when I reached this temple there will be a shrine, next to the shrine there is a stele. On this stele there are French inscriptions, I think this is the stele commemorating those who lost their lives in the construction of the Don Ca Arch Bridge. There are a total of 9 people on this stele, maybe in 1953 there was an accident when building the Vong Don Ca bridge and this is a memorial place for those who died. We continue to return to Don Ca arch bridge, there are steps on the side of the bridge for visitors to visit below the Don Ca arch bridge. When you get down to the area below Vom Don Ca bridge, the natural scenery is immersed in the green of the vast mountains and forests, admires the vast, vast sky, listens to the clear birdsong of the stream here, made us quite excited… A rare sight, hard to find in a vibrant coastal tourist city.

Nature on the way to Dom Dom Ca bridge is poetic and majestic like stepping out of a fairy tale. You can practically live with the beautiful trees that line the winding roads. This frame is also loved by many young people. With the shape of the foot of the bridge designed as an arched chamber with massive stone columns, this place is affectionately called "heaven's gate" by young people. At the foot of the bridge flows a small stream with clear and poetic water. The weather today is quite nice, the space of the stream here is also quite large. But the water in this place is quite cold, this time it will be very easy to catch a cold when we have just experienced the journey to explore this road. Standing under the stream here, my friend and I will wait for the train to pass. Every 15 minutes, a train will pass, sometimes a passenger train, sometimes a freight train. Sitting for a while under the stream, we also caught sight of the train slowly running across this bridge. One thing in particular that I noticed was every time the train passed. The train will go very slowly when crossing the bridge, the horn will beep for a few hours. The first time, I didn't notice it, but the second and third time, I understood that those whistles were the greetings of the train when commemorating those who died while building the Don Ca arch bridge. . If you come here to explore, you can experience the special thing that I just talked about. I find this quite meaningful. Looking towards the source of the stream, I discovered the high waterfalls here. I determined if moving there would take more than 1 hour to get there. But today, we don't have the necessary equipment to go to the jungle. Next time I will conquer those high waterfalls. Currently, many trees are growing to cover part of the Don Ca Arch Bridge, but I can still feel the ancient beauty of this building's architecture. It would be very difficult to build a bridge in this place, in the middle of a wild mountain forest. We ate lunch with a cup of instant noodles. It took a lot of energy to travel long distances. Nutritional supplementation is always an important thing, after eating we explore the forests here and start bathing in the stream before heading back to the city. We started moving back to the city at 2 pm, ending our weekend trip. I feel very happy to experience a wonderful day on the weekend, although I have been here many times, every time I come here, the scenery here gives me a different feeling.
